ESSA Stockholm Arlanda by Orbx GSX Profile - Image 1

    Description

    Changes made

    • GSX Handler that takes CDM data from VATSCA and displays it on the GSX VDGS. This will show you the correct TOBT, TSAT, ETD, and TTD.
      • Please only use it if you plan on flying on VATSIM. If you fly offline, there is no benefit to using it as it only marginally changes the default VDGS for the time being

      • Installation guide is present in the readme.txt. Please read it. The installation is a tiny bit more than just drag and drop. However, this is not necessary in subsequent installations
      • Very experimental release. In my testing, it works, but as my minimal experience in programming has showed, nothing is ever bug-free. Thus I ask that you report any bugs to me on Discord or via private messages here in accordance with the readme.txt
      • Custom VDGS cycle added to show only relevant information in a more realistic manner. Optionally, you can reenable the more vanilla cycle in the handler file
    • Organized stands into the following categories:
      • Terminal 5, Pier A, Stands 1 - 10

      • Terminal 5, Pier B, Stands 12 - 20
      • Terminal 5, Pier F, Stands F28 - F44
      • Terminal 4, Stands 31 - 43
      • Terminal 3, Stands 52 - 60
      • Terminal 2, Stands 62 - 68
      • Apron E, Stands 101 - 119
      • Apron R, stands R3 - R10
      • Individual aprons S, M, G, H, J, K (All separated)
    • Added ground handling and catering operators in accordance with https://www.swedavia.com/about-swedavia/ground-handling-agents/
    • Programmed the real life pushback procedures as per the latest (As of 2026-01-04) Swedavia documentation
      • As the H apron does not actually have published routes in real life, I simply defined a Facing North option given that it is the only way out of the apron

    • Optimized stop positions at all stands for:
      • iniBuilds: A300, A310, A330, A340, A350

      • Fenixsim: A319, A320, A321
      • PMDG: 777F
      • iFly: 737 Max 8
      • Asobo: 747-400, 747-8, 787-10
      • Horizonsim: 787-9
      • Aerosoft/Toliss: A340-600
    • Added the guidance systems in accordance with real life
      • At stands where the INOGON VDGS is in use, I instead used the Safedock T3-9 as GSX, at the moment, does not have the INOGON VDGS and I felt that the T3-9 would make the most sense given that it was used at many other stands

      • Both a GSX and a Nooalero VDGS version is present, select whichever one applies to your usecase
    • Customized ground service vehicle placement on all stands
      • I do not know of any real positioning data for where stuff would go so all of this was done with what I thought would be right mixed with trying to just avoid having vehicles invading other stands or being placed inside buildings, so it won't be realistic

      • If anyone has any info on real life positioning, please do let me know and I will work on making it as accurate as reasonably possible
      • For a better experience, delete the default ground service equipment using the guide below
    • Customized jetway paths for T-jetways at the Terminal 5 A/B Piers to prevent pax from walking through the air
    • Customized initial pax height on jetways to prevent clipping of either the floor or ceiling
    • Added custom passenger walk in paths in stands where it is needed, such as Terminal 3 and stands without a linked jetway on Terminal 5 Pier F
    • Added deicing pads S, R, and G at respective positions

Removing the default VDGS and default GSE

In order to get rid of the VDGS, delete the "orbx-airport-essa-stockholm-arlanda\SimObjects\Landmarks\nooalero VDGS ESSA" folder

In order to get rid of the default GSE, delete the "orbx-airport-essa-stockholm-arlanda\SimObjects\GroundVehicles" folder

Then, download MSFS Layout Generator https://github.com/HughesMDflyer4/MSFSLayoutGenerator and drag the layout.json file in the orbx-airport-essa-stockholm-arlanda folder over the layout generator. Alternatively, if you use MSFS addons linker, you can right click the ESSA addon, click manage addons, and click regenerate layout.json file. Done right, this should get rid of both the default VDGS and the default GSE

Lastly, if while using this profile you detect any issues, please do let me know and I will do whatever I can to fix the issue.

Regarding the CDM data: I currently have no CTOT (so no slot), but the VDGS is showing me a CTOT which seems to be just TSAT plus Taxi Time. But that's incorrect, if you don't have a slot, there should be no CTOT neither is a CTOT showing on the vatsim VDGS website or in the JSON data.

    Interesting, will look into that
I do have a system where it determines whether to say CTOT or ETD based on whether the data for a CTOT exists, so I'll have to check why it's broken

Hi, great work. But is it possible to remove the inactive VDGS as you can see it in the Photo? I bought ESSA in the Marketplace and I stream the airport. By the way it´s not only Gate 6.
    Thank you...

Thank you! Unfortunately, that's the default Nooalero VDGs and there's nothing you can do to remove it if you bought the scenery through the marketplace. You might be able to contact Orbx and see if you can get the license transferred to the Orbx manager, from where you can follow the steps I outlined in the bottom of the profile's description, but I doubt you can do that with marketplace purchases since those are encrypted
If you want to have just one, and are okay with Nooalero, I do have a Nooalero VDGS profile version, but you'll have to install Nooalero VDGS separately

Cool idea with the VDGS/CDM display.
To avoid having to type in the CID, maybe you could fetch the aircraft type and the callsign from the simbrief flightplan rather than using the CID to look it up in the vatsim data? It would make the profile drag&drop again since the CID seems to be only needed for these two fields which are both in the simbrief data as well.
Really looking forward what people will make possible with the new options :)

Thank you! That is something I considered initially but figured it would be better to have a CID system in case anyone files a different callsign than their Simbrief flight plan (such as in the case of a callsign in use). However, I'll think about that idea again and probably swap to the Simbrief callsign as a base for the system

After some consideration, it's probably better to keep it the way it is now since handling issues with callsign in use would be very complicated, and if people do realops, there's a high likelihood of a callsign in use issue. That being said, for future updates it's drag and drop provided you departed from ESSA at least once, so hopefully that's a bit better
    I appreciate the feedback, though

Hi, just for your information. The bug with warping and stand selection is caused by GSX itself and got fixed with an hotfix although the version number hasn't changed. In the FSDT Installer select "check" and you'll download the hotfix. Had the same problems with my profile for Aerosoft Frankfurt.

In real life they use the T2-18 VDGS, which isn't available in GSX. In my opinion the T2S-24 is more like it that the T3-9.

Paste "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\GSX\MSFS" into the File Explorer search bar, that's where all the GSX profiles go

Just one of the .ini files, either GSX VDGS or Nooalero VDGS, depending on which one you want to use, and the .py file
