    Lovingly converted with permission from the original FSAddon model, this new edition takes full advantage of the modern simulator’s visual fidelity and flight dynamics. Every rivet, strut, and fabric panel has been carefully optimized to deliver an authentic flying experience, whether you’re performing coastal patrols, liaison missions, or daring night insertions behind enemy lines.

    Hi! I can assure you, it's not an abandoned project. We are not aware of any compatibility issues affecting the Lysander aside from the lack of sound in 2024, and did make it clear that we're not able to include PCK files from premium aircraft, hence why we elected to use sound matching instead (though granted this could be looked at in the future, particularly for 2024 users).

    The discord server is busy and active, but respectfully freeware projects are not the focus for the team at the moment! We will circle back to this in the future as and when the team has some capacity in our schedules :)

    Hi, thanks for the aircraft!
    I could not find any interior light.
    Did I miss something?
    It would be hard to believe that such an aircraft, famous for its daring night missions, cannot be flown at night in the sim...

    A bit late to pick up this lovely aircraft, I already have the Anson, and delighted with both of them (my Dad flew both in WW2). However, with the greatest respect to the author (it's something I would never be able to attempt) , the Lysander could do with a little tweaking to make it fly like the real thing.
    The whole point of the original Westland design was that it would lift off in the tail down, three point attitude in just a few hundred feet. This model has the CofG far too forward to achieve this (as we all know, it'll nose over with any braking).
    A tweak to the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] entry in the flight_model.cfg will fix it. Alter the 'empty weight CG position' to -4.5,0,0 instead of -3.

    No sound in either version of MSFS. I checked the aircraft.cfg file and it aliases the sound to this
    sound = \..\..\BlackbirdSims_DHC2_Wheels\sound
    so no wonder!
    I tried sounds from something else with a radial engine - copied 'sound' and 'sound ai' folders the rewrote the .cfg to reference them but no better. This needs a fix at SDK level or whatever.

    I downloaded and installed the Dev's Sea Fury (single engine fighter). I copied the /sounds and /soundsai folders to the Lysander directory at the correct level, and in aircraft.cfg, I replaced that "sound = " line with
    sound = "" ; use local /sound folder
    for all occurrences ([FLTSIM.0], etc.) and it is working for me for external sounds (but not in the cockpit). I haven't had time to debug that problem. FYI.

    Sadly I've tried all of the fixes to get the sound working but I've had no luck at all so for the time being this lovely Aircraft is staying in the Hanger until an official fix comes out. I am using MSFS24

    A great addition to the sim, thanks for your efforts. Unfortunately, like others, I've found that there are no sounds in MSFS2024. I've attempted the sound mod posted previously, but for me it just doesn't work.
    Could you provide some guidance for members of the community that are using MSFS2024, so we can enjoy flying this beautiful bird?

    Sound mod below worked for me. One issue is that flaps are not automatic - they work manually in the sim but in the real a/c they are speed related with slats and deploy automatically. Look it is a free a/c so I am not complaining at all, just saying that is how the real plane works but may be an issue in MSFS to impliment, not sure.

    I like the model and history but there is no sound for anything in 2020. It's all completely silent. Also, its overly sensitive to nosing over when braking.

    I added 200 lbs at the rear in the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] section of the flight_model.cfg file:
    station_load.5 = 200,-30,-1,Ballast.
    Flies great, doesn't nose over.

    I am glad they modeled the SOE version with the ladder for agents to embark/disembark. Airfix makes a great 1/48 model of this plane and its a new tooled kit as well. Thanks for this plane! It flies great.

    Version History

    -Hopefully fixed an issue with FS2024 CTD's. Huge apologies from the whole team, the issue is with Mouserect XML code left over from the original FSX Conversion, which doesn't play nicely with FS2024. We're still not sure why it worked on some but not others, but hopefully this fixes it for all! Happy flying!
