    Description

    Manchester city centre buildings.

    As it has been 2 years since this was updated, I have taken over its maintenance from Damo and will develop it further.
    This scenery pack adds many realistic-looking buildings that we have hand built or converted and imported from 3d Warehouse.

    The idea behind this is to enhance/compliment the Orbx Central UK pack without using photogrammetry, so with that in mind, it is compatible with said add on, but we do not know when it comes to any other scenery packs from this site.

    IMPORTANT *** Ensure you delete Damo's Manchester_uk mod from your community folder.

    So, now titled Manchester v2, re-compiled for the latest version of MSFS.  Please report any problems and any suggestions for further development are welcome.

    Great addon. I dont understand why Asobo did not add Manchester photogrammetry in. We have it in Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Notinhgam...

    Hi

    Damo and I have ensured the mod complements Orbx GB Central. I run all my tests with Orbx and double checked that there is no duplication of models.

    The only clashes I can think of are ensuring you have deleted Damo's original Manchester UK mod as all the buildings would be duplicated. Also there may be issues with any other Manchester mod e.g. the photogrammetry mods by Mucka, Sebastian, MarkTaylor if you have these installed. And I don't have photogrammetry on anyway - maybe this is the problem.

    There's usually a simple solution to these issues, but I'm sorry it's got me scratching my head!

    I'm uploading a new update today with improvements to the Etihad campus. Give this a try and let me know how you fare.

    I'll keep checking for issues at my end - hopefully we'll get to the bottom of things.

    I have all your sightseeing scenery and like them all. It could be that your Barton Surrounds together with Manchester is just too much.
    I've had to delete Warrington, Stockport and Cheshire to get this to run OK. Such a shame but I will keep experimenting with solutions.

    Hi again Skell (Graham isn't it?). Hours of testing trying to solve the problem and I think it's a clash with ORBX GB Central . Are there some duplicate buildings? Have you tested both together? Maybe an ORBX compatible version needed I wonder?

    Hi Skell. Update 2.1 is giving me mega stutters and frame rates dropping to 15 at times. Reverted back to your initial release and have no problems. I normally lock at 30 fps and rarely go below even in New York with a couple of addon airports and Samscene addon. Not sure if your new version has issues or its just adding to many objects for my system. I do have al of your sightseeing addons installed and a couple of addons for Manchester as well. Many thanks for your efforts btw.

    Before uploaading I checked FPS on my system (not particularly high-end) and it was OK. My models are all pretty low poly and rarely cause problems but I'll take a look and see if I can identify any issues.

    Done a couple of flights and no discernable drop in FPS with the mod vs without. I'm working on some more additions so will upload next version soon . We'll see if it improves things.

    Will look at his soon. Stadium, velodrome and a couple of other buildoings are already there but I'm sure there's more I can do.

    Thank you sir! It looks really cool on approach into Manchester when you use a Google Earth mod and the stadiums on Etihad Campus have the Etihad logo etc on the roof but I would rather use a handcrafted landmarks pack like yours.
