#Real-Life #Handcrafted Norway Drag and Drop

ENBO - Bodø airport and Bodø main air station
A beautiful airport and air force base situated next to Bodø city.
How to pronounce it? The Ø is the same sound as 'i' in 'bird' or the 'u' in Murphy.

A huge thank you to Terje Vanvik for reference photos and info.

If you hate all the red ground markings, I've uploaded an addon that reduces red ground line intensity in the whole sim (screenshots taken with this installed):

My airports:
ENBR Bergen - Flesland
ENZV Stavanger - Sola
ENSH Svolvær

  • If you prefer smaller bushes instad of trees see the "options" folder.
  • Option to remove or include retired RNoAF firetrucks. See "options" folder.

Update 1.3.4

  • Still cleaning up shelter placement. Trying to blend over 60 shelters with the terrain is a small nightmare.
  • Fixed north shelters model LOD error.
  • Fixed: Had accidentally doubled up all shelters. I've removed the option to disable shelters and placed them back in the main file to make development easier.
  • Added snowplow model.

Update 1.3.2

  • Added clutter to open shelters
  • Added new detailed interior to open shelters

Update 1.3.1

  • Some fighter shelters are now open, with parking named as M61-63.
  • Added textures and lights to military buildings.
  • Added 3 more types of shelters. All shelters should now be placed.

  • Custom working animated jetways
  • Custom lights
  • Correctly placed and named taxiways
  • Correctly placed and named parking spaces on terminal area
  • Taxisigns
  • Modified Biome and removed trees
  • Terraforming + sloped runway
  • 3D models including:
    • Passenger terminal
    • Tower
    • Cargo buildings
    • Tech hangars
    • 330 SAR hangar
    • Fire station with correct fire trucks (static only due to MSFS SDK limitations)
    • Bodø Remote Tower Center
    • Babcock / Lufttransport air ambulance base
    • Military hangars
    • Military fighter shelters
    • Light masts
    • Air history museum and retired 737 east of airport

Parking info:

Gates 14, 17, 18 have jetways.
Ramp 11-21 for passengers around terminal building
Ramp 22-26 on terminal apron
Ramp 27-34 on western part of terminal apron for small planes including air ambulance
N41 and N42 (ficticious names) outside Air ambulance hangar
NW51 and NW52 (ficticious names) outside tech hangars
M61-M63 (ficticious names) inside open fighter shelters. Max wingspan 15m.

Known issues:

  • The MSFS graphics engine struggles with the pattern and makes moiré distortions on the jetways
  • Named Bodo instead of Bodø in MSFS

A lot of work on the military side completed.
-Some fighter shelters are now open, some have parking named as M61-63.

-Added 3 more types of shelters. All shelters should now be placed.

    - Changed light masts to fix issue where sim doesn't render them properly from a distance. MSFS does some very aggressive auto-LOD stuff.

  • Version 1.2.5 February 20, 2021

Something went wrong with the file upload and users downloading the newest version may have gotten the old 1.0.5. Please check your download or redownload. It should be fixed now, sorry for the inconvenience.

Still work to be done at Bodø and Bergen. Considering looking at ENEV, but at the moment fixing up ENSH a bit so I have somewhere to fly. Foxbat20 is currently working on an improved ENGM, and donutsdemise made some great improvements to ENRY, so I'll focus on stuff elsewhere for now.

Fantastic ! You are one of my alltime favorite developers! I have a wish that designers all find a common unzipped folder demonination: I rename my folders so I know what version im running: "ENBO Bodø 0.6.1 wombiiactual" I hope all developers do this. the name "airport" is unecessary, using the ICAO name indicates it anyways. Wish 2) Could you redo ENBN ? (I could ask the original developer of course ! ) -Best regards from Brønnøysund Norway

Thank you for the kind words. To answer number one, the SDK specifies devname-type-icao-projectname. I decided not to include version number in the folder name becauseI wanted people to be able to update by just dropping the folder in and not get multiple instances if they forgot to delete, but that of course is a problem if I remove files, so I might change my mind. Personally I would want type-icao-projectname-devname, as that would sort the folders better. For question 2 I can only say that there are so many airports and so little time :)

Thanks very much for your reply ! I rename only the folder name itself after unzipping, seems to work fine, no hassle for me :D

Great job! My only suggestion would be to lower the brightness of the lights in general, if possible. It looks nice but real lights are that bright. Keep up the great work!

I will probably reduce them a bit. Based on photos it feels like they should be a lot brighter than the default MSFS lights, but they should also be more directional so they don't light up the buildings so much, but that doesn't seem to work from Blender at the moment, so reducing the brightness might be the only option.
