    Version 1.1

    This version adds detail to the area immediately south  of the present airfield boundary with buildings etc. and also clearing of trees from the fields in the area.

    The airfield is situated some 3 miles west of the town of Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre in south-west Scotland.  The airfield forms part of what was originally RAF Machrihanish,  known for it's very long runway and used by the Us Navy for many years.  The base has been closed for many years now and the active airfield now only takes up a part of the original base with the rest of the base area being used by various commercial enterprises.  The once very long runway has now been considerably shortened and the airport now sits in a fenced off area to the west of the site.  This first version only deals with what is inside the fenced-off area.

    The airport has regular daily flight from Glasgow Airport,  run by Loganair.  GA traffic can also use the airfield by arrangement.

    *** Please be aware another version of this airfield is available at Flightsim.to under the name of EGEC Machrihanish and should not be used with this version.

    Many thanks for your comments. Still have work to do around the control tower if you are handy with a camera!

Where needed default buildings have been replaced by custom-made models. Further update will cover the remaining part of the former base which is now used by various commercial enterprises. the
