Description
EGPK Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Version 2.2
Extra detail has been added around the main roads on the approaches to Runways 12 & 30 and road running parallel to Runway 12.
Appropriate static aircraft added ( FSLTL base models mostly required )
Some extra detail around the airfield.
The latest version re-positions all elements of the airfield to match the new Bing Maps recently introduced and also removes unwanted buildings and trees added by the WU17 GB & NI update.
Update version 2.1 for MSFS2020 has further improved ground markings, some additional buildings and re-textured buildings plus further tree removal.
Update version 2.0
Reworking of ground markings and texturing on main passenger terminal aprons.
Additional detail added to Spirit Aerosystems factory on north side of airfield, including three additional custom-made buildings and added signs.
Version 1.0
This is a early release version of scenery for the airport and surrounds. The default airfield layout has been mostly retained for now, with some changes to aircraft parking and the addition of two helipad 'starts'. Most buildings on the airfield have been replaced by custom models and the intention is to continue this into the Spirit Aerosystems Factory and surrounding industrial areas and residential areas.
It should be said that many of the models are re-compiles of models used in previous FS versions, so don't expect anything other than a basic attempt to fill a gap. No other versions of the airport being available so far for MSFS2020
Glasgow Prestwick Airport is situated in South Ayrshire, Scotland, just north of the towns of Prestwick and Ayr and some 32 miles south of Glasgow.
At present the airport is owned by the Scottish Government.
The airport is one of Ryanair's Hubs, although the routes operated have decreased in recent years. Flights now go to mainly Spain, Portugal and Tenerife.
The airport also has daily cargo services by Cargolux, Air France and West Atlantic.
Also on the airfield is a Bristow/HMCoastguard Search and Rescue facility and there is Flying Club area at the eastern end of the airfield
Version 1.1
This version adds extra detail all around the perimeter of the airfield including the Spirit Aerosystems Factory, the approaches to main runway, flats and houses near the main terminal and replacement buildings around and including the new NATS centre.
Version 1.2
Now added are custom-made threshold and red-endlights to both runways. The small industrial estate on the north-east side of the airfield has been customised as well as other industrial and residential buildings being added. C17 static now placed on north-east apron with animated personnel here and at other places.
Version 1.3
This version adds perimeter fencing. Vegetation scaling and density has been amended in some areas. Other small detail added.
Version 1.4
Modified cargo parking spots to accommodate large aircraft.
Detailed carparking for main terminal ( more to come )
Reworking of static aircraft. Parked aircraft are now FSLTL models, more in line with reality. FSLTL base models require to be installed for statics to show.
A few extra apron ground markings have been addded.
Version 1.5
Further amendments to parking spot sizes now mean all aircraft, including large cargo aircraft, will park in appropriate spots.
More ground markings added
Some general extra detail added.
