Blackbushe, UK - hand-crafted airport
I have recrafted this airport from scratch and tried to match the real-world features as closely as possible. It mostly uses stock objects but I have also created a custom model for the five green hangars
The default airport in MSFS is SO bad (airport parking in the BCA auction site) I just had to fix it.
I hope you enjoy it!
Info:
Blackbushe Airport (ICAO: EGLK) is an operational general aviation airport in the civil parish of Yateley in the north-east corner of the English county of Hampshire. Built during the Second World War, Blackbushe is north of the A30 road between Camberley and Hook. It for a time straddled this road with traffic having to wait whilst airliners were towed across. The southside was used for aircraft maintenance, utilising wartime-built hangars. Today, only the part of the airfield section that lay north of the A30 remains in active use.
Blackbushe Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P693) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Blackbushe Airport Limited). The aerodrome is licensed for night use.
Includes:
- Completely overhauled airport from scratch
- Runways and taxiways base on airport charts.
- Custom runway, apron, taxiway and car park paint markings
- Taxiway signs
- Custom model for green hangars
- Over 200 other hand placed stock scenery objects (inc. lots of cars for the BCA Auction site)
- Added ground ATC
- Night lighting (may not be completely true to life)
Install:
Extract the "gobby-eglk-blackbushe" folder to your /Community/ folder.
Notes:
· I have intentionally left the inactive runways with default aerial imagery and not designated them as runways. The runways are in such bad condition they are not used in real-life.
Looks like a great re-working Gobby.
Nice one. Thanks.

This is a wonderful addition to airport scenery and I've been using it for some time. However, I've recently noticed a problem when the data is read by LittleNavMap. It shows the field elevation as being 1066 feet instead of 323 feet. (Perhaps there was a mistake wth the elevation data being entered in metres rather than feet!). Can you check to see if your update is causing this problem?

Just to follow up, I removed you blackbushe files from my Community folder and reloaded the LNM Scenery Library and, guess what, the field elevation is shown correctly at 323 feet. So it is your data that's causing the problem (although MSFS still shows the correct elevation).
As I surmised before, I believe you must have entered your field elev. as 323metres which, transposed to feet gives 1066ft.
As this is my 'home' airfield, can you issue an update to correct this. Many thanks!

Hi Gobby. Couple of things I have noticed today (since installing World Update 3, although they may have been there before but just not spotted).
1. Both windsocks are doubled - yours and the original MSFS windsocks are now displayed - but going in opposite directions! Yours look much nicer 😊
IGNORE--->>2. A few of the car groups in the big BCA parking area (to the right of runway 25) are floating.
>>> sorry, I looked again and I think it might have been a trick of the light. My mistake.
Thought you'd like to know. This remains my favourite airport enhancement!
Cheers.

Also, just heard the sad news that Bushe Cafe has not had its lease renewed. The airport will be putting its own cafe and staff in. They have a tough act to follow and, I suspect, a tough crowd to please!
