Willow airport (PAUO) in Alaska is primarily a gravel airport with the main runway 13/31 being 4400' long, across the road there is the Willow seaplane base which has a designated runway 01W/19W 3200' long with Dock #1 available for cold and dark starts on the lake.
Because of the extremely poor Bing data for the area I have replaced the whole airport using Google Earth data which has transformed it from an empty grass field to a real airport again. Custom hangers have been used to provide local plane storage.
Standard PAPI lights with a 3 degree glideslope are on both approaches to the airport
Thanks so much for creating a real airport out of a grass field. This airport is a major staging area for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of this world famous race. It starts in Willow on March 6th.
