    EGLA Bodmin Airfield

    • So I started creating Bodmin EGLA for MSFS2020 back in February, after 90 hours of work, I lost it all   (long Story!) With home life as hectic as ever, I didn't have the motivation to start again... until now…
    • It is 90% complete and still not happy with it. It has been a challenge with the elevation levels. However, I thought I would release it.
    👍 There is a far more superior and much better version done by Burning Blue Design. Please support their work they have done an excellent job. burningbluedesign.com - bodmin-airfield ⏰ If time allows and there is enough people wanting a more accurate version. I plan to redo the models in blender. The ATC tower and hangars are converted from Xplane to MSFS2020 with the permission of Chris.

    Thanks for your work, great little base for Cornwall / Devon VFR. Only request might be to remove the giant in the hi-vis standing outside the control tower...?

    Tried to fly into this one today and I hit an invisible force field at the start of runway 21! Couldn't fly through it, taxi through it, or use the towbar or the Comanche to pull the plane through it.

    This is really nicely done! Appreciate you coming back to work on it after losing your early work -- I know how frustrating that is! Thanks for sharing this -- looking forward to spending some more time flying around the area.

    Yeah was gutted because the original version was so much better. And then msfs make huge changes in their SU5 update and the elevations and totally destroyed the fence boundaries etc. But anyway, the kind comments I’ve received so far has made me realise maybe it’s a project to chugging away at and maybe one day, maybe I’ll be satisfied lol :)

    Thank you glad you liked it. Feeling definitely encouraged to make a version 2, may not be out until Christmas though. I often got to EGLA and EGHA to visit cracking little airfields. Which plane did you fly in? @jbjf94

    I have seen that livery at Compton and someone on here has done that livery, might have to do that trip myself. As the cafe at Compton is lovely as you may know lol

    Thanks for your work! Spent a lot of time here when my dad and his mates ran the parachute club in the late 80's. Did my first few jumps here and had many a fun night in the clubhouse. When my dad died we threw his ashes out of a plane over runway 3/21. Special place for me. Appreciate your efforts.

    Thanks for you feedback! I wasn't going to release it as I'm really not that happy with it, and the burning blue design team have a done a great job. But a friend Fabio has kept me motivated to release it, and you comment is much appreciated. I will try a rework it on time to get the elevation spot on and to redesign the buildings in blender.     Do you want the DEM data for this site? I pulled it out a while back out of curiosity. There is one small problem - it's terrible and completely inaccurate but it will give you all the terraforming squares in place to work further on.
