Van's RV-7, RV-7A Update 1.1.1 with GTN750 WIP
The Van's RV-7 and RV-7A are two-seat, single-engine, low-wing homebuilt airplanes sold in kit form by Van's Aircraft. The RV-7 is the tail-wheel equipped version, while the RV-7A features a nose-wheel.
! The current GTN750 version is still work in progress, the buttons doesn't working yet

I discovered an interesting quirk with this aircraft -- the lateral CG indicates backwards in the Weight and Balance screen on the graphic display! When I remove the passenger, the CG shifts to the Right. When I remove the Pilot, the CG shifts to the Left. That's backwards from how it should behave!

Love the aircraft, really fast. something not quite right with the altimeter. the autopilot states the hpa is 1013 all the time which is is not and unable to change it. also the altimeter pressure is wrong, shows the correct altitude on the ground, but not the right pressure. at time of writing, the QNH at my airport was 1025, however my altimeter is showing 989, which is not right for QFE, so not sure whats going on!
love the plane anyway!

Why has it taken so long for me to find this stunning little aircraft? It is just fun factor 10 out of 10! Beautiful model and features! Cheers!

Love it. Thanks for making this! I fly an RV7a in real life. I changed the engine.cfg to: power_scaler=0.7 and under propeller thrust_scalar=1.0 This feels much closer to actual power our 180 HP RV7A makes.

I've got a low voltage light flashing and can't seem to get it to turn off. Any thoughts? Great plane, thank you!

Why does it appear with a fixed propeller and control surfaces are deflected and will not move?

This is indeed a fun little airplane (and a keeper)! Nice job! I do quite a bit of night flying in the sim with this plane, and I’ve identified a few areas that would greatly improve the enjoyment of flying this plane at night!
1) The plane really needs a taxi light! Depending on the airport, taxiing at night can be a real struggle without one!
2) The floodlighting of the footbox/rudder pedals on both the passenger and pilot-side is waaay over illuminated with apparently no way to dim it or turn it off, and it is very distracting when flying at night! The only way I found to turn it off was by turning both the Master Bat and Alt switches off! As an aside: Ideally, that circuit (cabin lights) should be on its own switchable, dimmable circuit protected by its own circuit breaker!
3) There’s just not enough lighting for the steam gauges to make night flying practical/enjoyable. Ideally, the instruments would be individually lighted, but a nice even distribution of red light, much like the default C152, would be a big improvement IMHO as well!
Welp, that’s *my* wishlist! Nice plane and keep up the good work - it’s much appreciated and enjoyed! The only thing keeping me from giving this plane a 5-Star rating are the three aforementioned lighting issues! 😊

This has become my favorite GA aircraft for getting there fast. The comments about performance being a little too fast are correct given the performance numbers I've seen on RV web sites but I like it that way.
Did get into a situation recently when flying in the tops of the northwest US snow clouds where the leading edge of the wings and the windshield frosted up. Turned on the pitot heat but couldn't find any heater. Had to turn off real weather briefly to let things defrost for the descent and snowy landing. First time It was needed.
So, is it possible to add heat in the next update. I also have the occasional low battery volt message even though the battery voltage gage shows it is OK. I still would like to have the option of the G1000 panel like in your original model.
Looking forward to seeing whatever you do. It's still a great airplane.

RVs don't have FIKI (Icing protection) and are not approved for flight into icing. So there would be no way to add realistic deicing as it doesn't exist. In theory it's experimental so someone has probably build theirs to have it but most generally they do have have deicing other than pitot heat (and carb heat on carb engines)

Very nice work @deejing. The aircraft model is gorgeous. Certainly close to being payware quality with some further tuning, verification, and interior modeling work. The exterior though, very cool! I own a RV7A fixed pitch with 180hp so I was doing some performance comparisons. For some reason, the RV7A gauges version outputs way more MAP than is available in the atmosphere. Can't figure out how to effectively tune that properly. I'm assuming the error lives outside of the config files. As for the RV7A glass version, a few tweaks to the engines.cfg really dialed it into reality. Big ones to speak of include mechanical efficiency vs. RPM, needed to be lowered across the RPM range, and the propeller thrust scalar needed to be pulled back from 1.15 to 1. I modified some other areas to dial in CHT's and oil temp to be inline with my airplane, but that is perhaps more build specific. Finally, since my airplane is a fixed pitch propeller, I copied the C172 propeller config data into the engines.cfg and played with the propeller diameter and pitch beta until my static, climb and cruise settings aligned with my airplane. It's now a good replica for me to practice at home. Bravo on the flight model as it flies pretty true to my bird. Again, thank you and hope this helps others and is useful feedback for future updates.

Is there any way to get a copy of your engine config? I agree it is much too powerful stock otherwise it is an awesome freeware plane.

Great aircraft, thank you for making it, If possible, if you are planning on doing any updates could you make it possible to remove the crew (by altering weights in sim etc) ?
