About open flightmaps
open flightmaps is an open source project that provides high quality VFR maps currently covering Western Europe for the most part. This is interesting for people who want to fly VFR in countries like Germany, for which there are basically no free VFR maps available.
Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
You can find and discuss this project on the official Flight Simulator forums.
License
The map data is provided by the open flightmaps association (OFMA) under the OFMA General Users’ License.

the AIRAC is now 2213, but otherwise SSSNAKE's tips worked, it's lovely to have EU charts in Littlenavmap
golfbravo
After following the tips from SSSNAKE and Nick_D everything works perfectly, thank you all very much.

Faudra-t-il éditer le ficher "openflightmaps.dgml" à chaque mise à jour des AIRACS ?
Le zoom est assez limité.

I just took a look at the pe NotePad ++ Path dgml file: (".. \ Little Navmap \ data \ maps \ earth \ openflightmaps \ openflightmaps.dgml") and changed two "path = 2203" and changed them to "path = 2210" . Then I went to Settings from LittleNavMap and removed the cache from openflightmaps and .... Everything is fine. IT WORKS.

Hello,
I made fresh install of LNM and OFM theme copied to right directory.
I still gets black background of OFM theme.
Other themes are OK.
bluegolf24
Have the same problem, when zooming in the map goes black - even though I updated the AIRAC cycles in the dgml-file. It almost seems the OFM data for the tiles are now changed or corrupted. It still worked fine with the last AIRAC cycles.

Try to clean cache (C:\Users\@[email protected]\AppData\Local\.marble\data\maps\earth\openflightmaps) after change AIRAC, works for me right now
LucjuszHoracjusz
I've updated "path=" to 2209 and I see the maps but they are like in dark mode: https://ibb.co/G0DRbdr
Any ideas?
EDIT: changing to 2208 make no difference. Also I have no airspaces on.
LucjuszHoracjusz 5 month(s) ago
Okay, I somehow figure it out. Need to make a big zoom... 😉

Doesn´t work. Can anyone help me?
The map is still black.
itsimon 5 month(s) ago
OFM is still in 2208 - always try a test-tile like https://nwy-tiles-api.prod.newaydata.com/tiles/9/272/182.jpg?path=2209/base/latest vs https://nwy-tiles-api.prod.newaydata.com/tiles/9/272/182.jpg?path=2208/base/latest and verify, if you got an valid tile/jpg.
LucjuszHoracjusz 5 month(s) ago
Are You sure that You're are on the covered area? Also did You changed 2209 in both places in file?
stenax 5 month(s) ago
It works with cicle 2208 😊 (although we are in 2209????)
I changed the cicle to 2208, then cleared the cache and now it works. Thanks a lot!

I just had a look at the dgml file with an editor p. e. NotePad++ Path: ("..\Little Navmap\data\maps\earth\openflightmaps\openflightmaps.dgml") and changed the two "path=2203" and changed those to "path=2205". Then went to the Settings from LittleNavMap and deleted the cache from openflightmaps and.... it still does not work: the background remains black ! Any chance it will be fixed with SU 10?
itsimon 6 month(s) ago
Just noticed, that OFM is already in version 2207 now (example URL from OFM-Website:
so changing the dgml to 2207 works for me now, give it a try!

Hello, anybody got a fix for this issue? I can see OFM in Littlenavmap but there are no airspaces displayed: https://prnt.sc/mFYLrf2uWDuN

Did you fix it ? Same issue for me as well

I can no longer display the OpenFlightMaps as the background is all black. If I change the scale, the map quickly appears and disapera to let the black background... Was working before but now, stopped...' Any idea?
bluegolf24 9 month(s) ago
You can get it working again. It is caused due to the update of the AIRAC cycle. Take a look at the dgml file with an editor p. e. NotePad++ Path: ("..\Little Navmap\data\maps\earth\openflightmaps\openflightmaps.dgml") and in here, search for "path=22" and change those 2 values to "path=2205". Then go to the Settings from LittleNavMap and delete the cache from openflightmaps in its folder.
braudoux 9 month(s) ago
Thanks, will check that... Does this mean that we have to do that after each AIRAC Update?

i ve the same problem...it snt working..it s a pity!? How to fix as before?
braudoux 8 month(s) ago
Hello,
Please check that you changed both field with the AIRAC value. The first time it did not work for me because I forgot the second change... Now it is ok.
KrisMcGurk
Does anyone have a problem where only certain tiles are missing the full information? For example, when I zoom in Zurich LSZH.
bluegolf24
Since today the openflightmaps don't work for me anymore, only everything black, although I am in the covered area. I have reinstalled Littlenavmap (v. 2.6.17), downloaded the openflightmaps theme v. 1.0.13 again and inserted it, deleted the map cache... Without success! It seems as if the maps are not loaded....
Edit:
I got it working again. It is obviously due to the update of the AIRAC cycle. I had a look at the dgml file ("..\Little Navmap\data\maps\earth\openflightmaps\openflightmaps.dgml") and changed the values to "path=2203"... et voilà- it worked! 😊

You saved my day!!
(don't forget to "Clear Disk Cache" in settings --> cache and files)
StingrayMM20 9 month(s) ago
I tried this method and it didn't work. Is there anything more to it than just changing the AIRAC numbers and clearing the cache? I feel I have missed something.
bluegolf24 8 month(s) ago
so it should normally go - maybe a typo in the file when changing?

Same happens here... 😞

Make sure to clear the map cache in order to load the new tiles. To do so, remove all contents in the following dir and restart LittleNavmap:
pvidepla
Using this theme I have all black. I followed instruction puting zip folder into C:\Little Navmap\data\maps\earth
my friend solved making a clean installation of LNM. I post it if someone have the same isssue.
AmbitiousPilots 1 year(s) ago
Remember that the VRF maps currently cover Western Europe for the most part. Looks like you're trying to use the map in an unsupported area. To check if the map is working go to an airport located in Europe such as EHAM.
Orangina
Excellent work.
It works perfectly. Very good maps to fly in western Europe.
For those who may have CTD. Two things to check:
I had CTD and it's solved

Thanks for your rating and sharing the fix 😉

When I select the Custom (openflightmaps) in the Theme menu, the Littlenavmap crashes incidently. I have the latest version 2.6.17
AmbitiousPilots 1 year(s) ago
I'm using version 2.6.17 as well and the map theme runs just fine here. Have a look at my screenshot: https://i.ibb.co/BVqhF66/image.png

same issue here....
SkyyStorm
Open flightmaps does cover South Africa (FA), but it doesn't seem to load in LNM?
AmbitiousPilots 2 year(s) ago
South Africa is indeed covered by open flightmaps. However, the charts are only available as direct download on https://www.openflightmaps.org/fa-south-africa/
SkyyStorm 2 year(s) ago
Ah okay, thanks.
