    Description

    Burwash Airport (IATA: YDB, ICAO: CYDB) is located just outside Burwash Landing, Yukon, Canada, and is operated by the Yukon government. The town of Burwash is located at historical mile 1093 on the Alaska Highway.

    A local aerial sightseeing company, Rocking Star Adventures, operates from Burwash Landing and nearby Haines Junction, offering stunning sightseeing tours over the spectacular ice fields of the Kluane National Park.

    To see the animated Canadian flag you will need the Windy Things library. To see the animated Yukon flag you will need to extend the Windy Things library of flags by also adding my Flags of Canadian Provinces and Territories - assets for Windy Things library. The rest of this scenery uses custom models or stock assets, including some from World Updates. They should all stream in as needed.

    A plea for help: I've exhausted reference picture/video sources from Google Images/Maps/Earth, Youtube, Bing Images, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram and Tripadvisor. If anyone has any useful reference photos of CYDB please send them my way and I'll try to make this scenery more realistic, since I needed to make a few educated guesses so far!

    This is AMAZING. It's a lot to ask, but is there any chance you could make sceneries for more of these remote Indigenous communities' airports?

    Thanks I’m glad you like it! I did make a start on a custom model for the Beaver Creek (CYXQ) airfield. It’s been on the back burner due to some other projects but I would like to get that done eventually.

    Lovely little scenery. Thank you for your work. Just flew there today with my C207 :) Super excited to see your Haines Junction Scenery as my Airhauler routes take me that way quite often and its definetly not a nice default Airport but the surroundingsare stunning.

    I agree the scenery in this region is stunning and it's such a shame the default airports are so poor.

    This scenery looks incredible. Any chance of seeing a 2020 version?

    I have 2024 but as it's almost unplayable (especially in VR ) I've given up on it.

    Thanks for your kind comments. There isn't a "convert" option to save a MSFS 2024 scenery project to MSFS 2020 - it would mean a complete do-over in the MSFS 2020 SDK, albeit reusing the custom models I already created. The other problem with this is that I used quite a few assets from the MSFS 2024 scenery libraries which simply don't exist in MSFS 2020, so I'd need to hunt around (or create) alternatives.

    Sorry to say, but I can't spare the time to do this conversion, let alone maintain two versions. I know MSFS 2024 had a rocky start (to put it mildly) but I'm hopeful it'll come good, and you'll be able to enjoy this scenery in the future!
