    Description

    Clean windows for the FBW A320

    After we cleaned thousands of A339 and A380 windows already, it's about time to clean the windows in the A320 as well.

    The zip file contains one single file, which is supposed to replace the respective file in your FBW A320 Base Folder (not a livery folder) and will work for all of your A320 aircrafts. 
    Path: .../Community/flybywire-aircraft-a320-neo/SimObjects/Airplanes/FlyByWire_A320_NEO/TEXTURE)

    To be able to return to the original "dirty" windows look, you should simply add something to the original file - for example "original GLASS_DETAILMAP01_MASK.PNG.DDS" and keep it in the folder. If you want to switch back, delete the "clean" file and remove the added text from the original file.

    Note: I tested the "Clean Windows" modification with both the development and stable versions following the texture update on May 19, 2026.
    After applying the "layout.json" file update mentioned in the description, the effect functions as intended.

    Prefer if it was something you put in the coomunity folder as I use the dev version and have to re-do this procedure for every update, which is a lot.

    If you place the modification in the FBW base folder (FlyByWire_A320_NEO), the change will apply to all A320s you have in your Community folder. However, if you wish to modify only a single A320, use the modification exclusively within that specific aircraft's texture folder. Since updates only affect the original FBW folder, using the second option might be the more convenient solution for you. Don't forget to update the layout.json for the particular aircraft though.

    Yeah that don't work. I get the same dirty screen. If I use the layout generator on the livery folder than I get the pink windshield. Not a biggie. There is a way to create a community mod for this as I seen Jaydee do it. Might wanna look at his 2020 clean glass mod and see what he did. I have no idea. Like I say, not a biggie.

    Edit. OK for testing purposes I did it your way and put it in the base/texture folder. Did have to run the layout gen. Then I did an update. Got the pink texture so ran it through the gen again and seems they didn't update that file. So, I'll just keep your file handy and run the gen after every update. If they update it, I'll replace it again. That'll work.

    The installation didn't work for me, mfs24. I followed the instructions exactly, but after starting, Windows turned purple and grey, so I'm disappointed.

    I just checked the file and works perfectly fine. However, to solve your little problem I uploaded "v2" which has an additional file which should be able to avoid your pink and white checkered windows. Just follow the instructions in the attached text file.

    Not working for me. I tried it 3 times. Fresh MSFS 2020 install latest version from the installer. delete the file throw this new one in there. Doesnt work at all. There is a 1 file and 2 file yours changes the 1 file (The directions dont mention a number)

    Make sure you are in the main installation folder of the FBW A320 (path as specified in the text above) and replace the existing file with the one you received after extracting the zip file. The .json file of the same name must stay where it is – do not delete it!
    Also, do not copy the new file into a livery folder, as this will not work. The clean windows effect will be applied to all FBW A320 aircraft present in your community folder after the modified file was placed in the A320 base folder.
    If a livery folder already contains a file with the same name, you must decide whether the existing file can be renamed or removed and act accordingly. The clean windows file will not work as long as an identically named file exists in a livery folder.

    One or more file paths in the folder containing "C:\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\flybywire-aircraft-a380-842\SimObjects\AirPlanes\Emirates A6-EUN\layout.json" are 260 characters or greater in length. Please move this package to a directory with a shorter path.
