    BUILT USING THE FS2024 SDK
     

    Welcome to Haast Aerodrome as I build additional new scenery around New Zealand for career mode missions in MSFS 2024.  This scenery  incorperates material and techniques specifically for FS2024. Most consideration is given to the interaction between aircraft wheels and the environment. Embrace the new sim despite its flaws!

     

    V1.0  15 Dec 24

    • Initial release. Small airfield but looks great in the new sim.
    • Will work well for Career Mode in FS2024.

     

    V1.1   21 Dec 24

    • More eye candy
    • Added dirt to the gravel apron.
    • Completed the fencing and gate.

     

    V1.2   30 Jan 24

    • Further improvements and additions.
    • Removed the windsock circles that do not really belong. The actual windsocks are still there though so don't panic.

     

    V1.3   02 Dec 25

    • More love given:
    • Added more parking, including the proper FS2024 cold and dark start helicopter parking.
    • Added way more objects and people.
    • Added animals.
    • Did some terrain texture work.
    • Final check before SU4.

    • Added some subtle lighting while I was checking for SU4 issues.
    • Added a few more objects.
    • Removed a couple of artifacts with some texture work.

    When I downloaded the file, it is called cg-airport-nzht-wanaka-fs2024-v1_3. Shouldn't it be cg-airport-nzht-haast-fs2024-v1_3 ?

    The SDK auto names the region. It is fine. You can rename it if it bothers you.

    Hi Mark,
    I noticed this airfield (Haast) is not included in your new New Zealand Airport Collection. Any special reason? Saving it for your Airfield Collection? ;) :)

    TO MY FOLLOWERS:

    I have pulled the compatiblity tag for MSFS2020 for this one, plus NZME Mercer and NZRT Rangiora. Not sure at this point if I will try fixing them for 2020. It is going to be too much hassle to have to build two different versions seperately going forward when there is so many more to do in FS2024. The new SDK has so many more features and I have only just scratched the surface on the new dynamic texture features for eg.

    I am proud to have done 34 addons in NZ and Western Australia for the FS2020 community but progress is a train that doesn't stop.

    FS2024 may be full of annoyance at the moment, but it does have a lot going for it, and over time it will mature and leave FS2020 well behind. When you do get to start using it rest assured I will be woking to make NZ the best place in FS2024 to go to and fly around in.

    Can I do every regional airport in NZ? You bet. Just watch me...

    Hi. I've tried it in MSFS2020, with the UK2000 library from the MarketPlace, and the rest of the dependencies. The pavement material doesn't match, and the buildings placed by hand are superimposed on the autogenerated ones. Greetings.

But I do thank you for pointing it out. I really should have checked them in 2020 first but got so excited building them in 2024. No promisies but if I get spare time I may still build just these three again for FS2020 and then just concentrate on FS2024. CG
