Description
Buechel Airbase (ICAO code: ETSB) is a German military airfield near Buechel. It is the headquarter of Tactical Air Force Wing 33", which is equipped with Tornado multi-role combat aircraft.
Currently the airport is reconstructed to provide the necessary infrastructure to host the F-35As being orderd by German Air Force and being expected to arrive at Buechel in 2026.
The reconstruction work comprises the following major changes:
- Widening of the parallel taxiway and intersections for compatibility with C-17
- Total rebuild of the runway
- Replacement of intersections
- New cargo apron at the south-west end of the parallel taxiway
This MSFS add-on implements the status of the airbase after completion (probably 2026) of all reconstruction measures ongoing (based on the current knowledge).
The main information basis for this add-on are public domain overview charts, depicting all airport modifications planned.
As there is only little reliable information on the evolution this airbase, everyone who has better knowledge, is strongly invited to share it with me.
This is a work in progress.
Many thanks to the creators of addons which have been used as dependencies for this scenery.
For Installation you need to place the following packages in your community folder (airport files are alternative):
- etsb-buechel-aerial
- etsb-buechel-airport-fs20 (remains Version 1.1.0, will not be updated any longer)
- etsb-buechel-airport-fs24 (native FS24)
- etsb-buechel-shelters

1st, to develop in FS 2020 SDK and to tweak functionality for FS 2024. Bad compromise, the advanced features of 2024 SDK wouldn'd be used.
2nd, to develop in both SDKs, it's 4 times the management effort, There is a life outside MSFS.

(Using add-ons linker and only locations that pertain to a flight). You might want to look at the libs section and rather use them as prerequisites or object sources.
