    Description

    Wittmund Air Base (ICAO code: ETNT) is a German military airfield between Wittmund and Aurich near Webershausen. It is the headquarters of Tactical Air Force Wing 71 "Richthofen", which is equipped with Eurofighter Typhoon multi-role combat aircraft. In addition, there are civilian-registered Douglas A-4 Skyhawks and Alpha Jets from an external service provider for air combat training, BAE Systems until 2014 and from 2015 for five years the company Top Aces inc. (formerly: Discovery Air Defence Services).

    Currently the Airport is totally reconstructed to become the most modern German airbase in 2030.

    As part of the construction work, the runway and the heat supply are to be renovated and the aircraft shelters modernized. Existing aprons are removed and replaced by new ones. A modern 10 pack aircraft hangar will be built within the eastern shelter loop. Many buildings will be torn down and replaced. All sewage, drinking water and firefighting water systems are also to be renewed. In addition, a new tower, a noise protection hall and a new fire station are to be built. A large part of the construction work (e.g. new aprons for transport aircraft, new shelter aprons, new taxi ways, new QRA hangars, ect.) has been completed by 2025.

    The remaining work (e.g. new fire station, the 10 pack hangar, the relocation of the tower, etc.) is ongoing an will be completed by 2030.

    This MSFS add-on implements the status of the airbase after completion of all reconstruction measures ongoing (based on the current knowledge).

    The main information basis for this add-on is a public domain overview chart, depicting all airport modifications planned, and aerial images taken from the ongoing construction work.

    As there is only little reliable information on the evolution this airbase, everyone who has better knowledge, is strongly invited to share it with me.

    For Installation you need to place the following packages in your community folder:
    - etnt-wittmund-aerial
    - etnt-wittmund-airport-fs24
    - etnt-wittmund-airport-fs20 (not updated any longer)
    - etnt-wittmund-shelters

    Important Note: MSFS 2020 is not supported any longer! If you stay with MSFS 2020, save your files!

    Awesome sceneries. Love them. If there is one thing i would like to see, some open shelters to start from. Is that possible in a future update?

    Thanks for your nice comment. The shelters I 'm using, are from EDJA Memmingen ( a former GAF AB), which is a stock Microsoft airport. I have open shelters, even spawnable, out of FS9 times. Unfortunately I cannot use them due to reasons of intellectual property rights.

    In order to have the same conditions as any user, I downloded my scenery from flightsim.to. No issues except a short drop on approach RWY 26.

    Ja bei mir auch. Kann zwar dort landen, aber nicht als Abflug auswählen. Wird aber in der Nähe als Flughafen angezeigt

    Danke für diese absolut tolle Scenery sieht richtig gut aus. Doch leider etwas tot, es fehlt ein wenig immersion. z.B einige Fahrzeuge die durch die gegend fahren, Soldaten, Mechaniker, Menschen.... einfach etwas bewegung. (Würde dafür sogar extra zahlen). Dies ist kein vorwurf sondern lediglich ein Wunsch.

    Moin,vielen Dank für die Scenery. Leider habe ich im Final aut der 26 FPS Einbrüche. Auf der 08 alles super . Ansonsten 5 Sterne

    ... die habe ich leider auch, vor allem im FS2020. Im 2024 sind die Einbrüche nicht ganz so schlimm. Hab leider noch keine Ursache gefunden. Bin für jeden Hinweis dankbar

    Gäbe es vielleicht die Möglichkeit dass du die Base vor dem neuen Ausbauzustand bauen könntest?Hab nämlich 4 Jahre dort während der guten alten Phantom Days in der F-Staffel gedient.

    Aber sonst richtig super wie du das alles erstellt hast, endlich gibt es Wittmundhafen AB in 1A Qualität.
