TFDi Design MD-11 UPS Fleet - Image 1

    Description

This is a repaint package for the TFDi Design MD-11 in colours UPS.

    The following registrations are included:

GE engines and new UPS design (all yellow logo, only 'Worldwide Services' on fuselage):

    N252UP, N253UP, N254UP, N255UP, N256UP, N257UP, N258UP, N259UP

GE engines and old UPS design (gradient logo,  'Worldwide Services - Synchronizing the world of commerce' on fuselage):

    N250UP, N251UP, N260UP, N261UP, N262UP, N263UP, N264UP, N265UP

PW engines and new UPS design (all yellow logo, only 'Worldwide Services' on fuselage):

    N273UP, N274UP, N275UP, N276UP, N278UP, N281UP, N286UP, N287UP

PW engines and old UPS design (gradient logo,  'Worldwide Services - Synchronizing the world of commerce' on fuselage):

    N284UP, N288UP, N289UP, N290UP, N291UP, N292UP, N293UP, N294UP

Note: Due to the models provided by TFDi it is not possible to cover/blank the L2/R2 porthole, thus it is interfering with the i-dot on some of the liveries included.

To reduce file size I have added a 'livery' called 'UPS Commons'

In MSFS 2020 it doesn't show up in the sim menu intentionally.

In MSFS 2024 it shows up and can be used as N250UP/N252UP

    Installation via Drag and Drop:

1: Extract the *.zip file to a temporary location, ie desktop
2: Insert the folder 'tfdidesign-md11f-ups-commons' and at least one of the registration folders e.g. 'tfdidesign-md11f-ups-n252up' into your community folder
3: Start MSFS, choose the installed livery and enjoy!
4: Leave the 'UPS Commons' installed as long as you use this pack, as shared textures are stored there needed for all liveries of this package.

If you like this livery, please consider leaving a comment and like! This livery is free of use, but you can consider a small donation!

if possible can you update N292UP? it has the new livery and the "worldwide services" text is much larger than the others

Well you probably need to call to it 'had' the new livery, they are all retired now. The liveries doesn't necessarily represent the state they had before retirement. Most if not all of them had the newer livery. I wanted to add a bit more variation so I made some newer without the synchronizing title and some older with it. Won't change that, I guess.

Missing the text on the landing gear doors. Official liveries don't have the porthole issue?

The nose gear door registrations is there, I've checked on some, any particular registration it is not? The 'porthole issue' is nothing I can do against it. When I made this pack originally (the MD was only available to Collector Edition owners back then), the freighter variant had two different models to choose from. The one we have now and a BCF model. To my understanding the difference laid in who did the conversion. McD shipped or converted their freighter plugging the 2nd door. So, I think, it could be made operational if needed. When the company merged with Boeing, they converted pax MD-11s in a way the 2nd door + its porthole was completely removed. BCF stands for Boeing Converted Freighter. So it basically depends on who did the conversion and when did it take place. After the model update in January the BCF model was completely removed. Devs told us, it is too much work to get the additional model working. They seem to have no intention to add it back in and I can't find anything inside the changelogs they would have. So I'd say the port holes should be present on TFDi own UPS liveries as well. But I have made the whole fleet prior to its rl retirement and I also haven't made all of them in their most current scheme. Most of them didn't wear the 'Synchronizing the world...', but I wanted a bit more variation here. So you might see the porthole problem on some registration made by TFDi, but not on mine with the same registration and vice versa.

I wouldn't blame you if you decided to remove 259 from the pack.

I've thought of that while updating back and forth. Couldn't decide. I don't want to be disrespectful including an airframe that caused so many fatalities. Kept it as a memory to the heroic crew. In the end the MD-11 will retired at some point in the future, so I would need to reduce to the amount of registrations here constantly to zero, as their real life counterparts leave the fleet. I don't want to do that. You are free to choose the registrations you want to fly. For me it would be totally understandable, if you didn't choose 259.

I am not sure, if the current public version of the MD-11 is ready for FS24. Besides that installation is done as per instructions above.

If you are using the updated Collectors Edition model, that's pretty normal as TFDi changed a lot there. If not, check the installation instructions above.

Well, the PWs are embedded inside of each livery folder, there is no seperate folder for the PW engines. Those liveries got an update at some point, currently working through all of them.
