Description
MSFS 2024 Compatible - The new ground details make off-road driving even more immersive!
This is a very basic drivable vehicle intended mainly for off-road use.
Keep your expectations low because this will not drive like a car but more like a flight-less aircraft that can taxi very fast. But despite that, it mostly works like you would expect. The wheels are not driven by the engine, there is an invisible constant-speed propeller so the RPM operates in that matter.
The suspension can handle moderately rough terrain but too much speed can cause an upset. I would turn off crash damage and rely on the slew controls (default Shift-Y) to right yourself should you find yourself wheel-side up.
Many parts of the sim terrain are not drivable. Photogrammetry areas are some of the worst. Bridges are often not solid and you may fall through the ground.
Controls:
Throttle is the accellerator.
Toe Brakes act as wheel brakes.
Parking brake on the assigned key mapping or use the gear shift lever between the seats.
To reverse, use the pushback controls (default Shift-P)
Rudder controls the steering.
Nav lights control the headlights.
Landing lights control the floodlights.
Hardware controls for mixture and propeller and various switches will operate those items.
If you use a yoke and pedals, it's best to remap the ailerons to the rudder or use a gamepad or other more suitable controller.
The sounds are a bit crude but this is not my area of expertise, so hopefully they are not too distracting.

I tried Project CrossCart, and the mod has a few drawbacks:
1. When spawning in free flight at a non-airport location, the vehicle appears in mid-air instead of on the ground.
2. There is no way to right the vehicle after it overturns in a crash.
But overall worth trying, just spawn in a airfield and you are good to go.
