    Description

    Question: I'm thinking about to create this scenery in 2.0 new with smaller tiles (only the old town and the bridges) but in higher lod and keeping the outer areas auto-generated. Let me know what you're thinking about it. Do you prefer more details and smaller areas, ore the whole city in lower detail?

    St. Gall (Sankt Gallen) is an old City in the north-east of Switzerland and capital of canton St. Gallen. Cause of its elevation of 669m (2,195 ft) and the near to the mountains it is often very snowy in winter. It is placed between hills and not far from Lake Constance and Mt. Säntis (nice for paragliding - check for Scenery Mt. Saentis and Alpstein, also Churfirsten). The Border to Austria, Germany and Fürstentum Lichtenstein are very close. Nice for a Sight Seeing Flight are the Old Town with its Cathedral (Unesco world Heritage), the Football Stadium and 18 Bridges in the east. The next Airport is LSZR Flughafen St.Gallen-Altenrhein and there is a small Grass Field LSZV Sitterdorf. Enjoy!

    Ths is my first work, so please be kind ;o) I had to split the map in three pieces cause of its long shape of the City. The borders do not always work very fine, I tried to do my best. The Google Maps Data are maden in Summer and Winter, thats why trees and fields look brown in some areas. For the moment there are no Street Llights at night and the color is a little to bright. I'll try to fix that soon.

    Installation:
    Extract Scenery_Sankt_Gallen and move the three files (Scenery_Sankt_Gallen_Ost, _West and _Zentrum) folder into the Community folder. Don't forget to restart the Microsoft Flight Simulaor after that. Thats it!

    Grüezi, I´ll keep this in English for the "larger" audience. I would love to see more details for individual areas before a larger area with fewer details. I am looking forward to flying back to SG now and seeing the differences. Thanks for your work.

    Thanks for your comment. After World Update 6 and the handcraftet Cathedral I have to check the compatibility and possibly start a second file with smaller areas

    Hi Bruchpilot, I would love to have a smaller scenery with more detail instead of the entire city. Less strenuous on the PC and better for sightseeing :)

    Das liegt daran dass die Szenerie halt schon sehr grossflächig ist. Ich persönlich mache die Sight-Seeing-Flüge nur mit langsamen Maschinchen. Dann kommt mein Rechner auch gut nach. Ansonsten lade ich es nur in den Community-Folder wenn ich auch vorhabe dort zu fliegen. Oder vielleicht verzichtest du z.B. auf den Osten weil der für Flüge am wenigsten interessant ist. So hast du nämlich auch nicht die langen Ladezeiten... wenn ich wieder mehr Zeit habe, werde ich die Szenerie neu erstellen und nur das Zentrum und St.Gallen-Bruggen erstellen, dann sollte das ganze flüssiger laufen.

    Hört sich ganz super an. Ja wobei interessant würde es auch sein, wenn die Schweiz geupdated wird, ob es zb. St.Gallen auch so schön wie Zürich aussehen wird? Was hältst du davon? Tolle Arbeit auf jedenfall!^^

    no, i didn’t heared of his tool before, but thanks for this advice. i will try to use it for my next release. for the moment i can tell that i had no ctd with my scenery

    Yeah, I'd give it a shot. It can dramatically reduce the number and size of the files in scenery like this.
