    EDAH - Heringsdorf Airport

     

    Airport

    Heringsdorf Airport (German: Flughafen Heringsdorf) (IATA: HDF, ICAO: EDAH) is a regional airport located near Garz on the island of Usedom in Germany. It used to be an East German airbase and today features summer leisure routes from cities in Germany and Switzerland as well as general aviation.

    The airport takes its name from the nearby municipality of Heringsdorf, located some 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the north. The largest town on the island however is Świnoujście in Poland, immediately to the east of the airport.

    Heringsdorf Airport features a single small terminal building equipped with check-in facilities and an information desk. The apron features two stands for mid-sized-aircrafts such as the Airbus A319 and several stands for smaller aircraft such as the Cessna 172. By winter 2015, the airport has been equipped with renewed firefighting and security facilities as well as a refurbished check-in area.

     

    Scenery

    Main buildings are custom made.
    Some of objects are from Asobo default libraries and other free to use resources to enhance scenery depth and immersion. 

    Aerial images are replaced with newer ones - more accurate and better quality. 

     

    Installation

    Simply unzip downloaded archive and move files into your community folder. No additional assets are needed.

    Hello tgolab, too bad still no update for 2024. Was trying to land in FS2024 on RWY 28, but might be a problem -> FS2024 freezing. Waiting for the update for FS2024 ;-)

    I have plans to bring this airport to MSFS 2024, but it will happen later this year. :)

    Ein wunderschöner Airport – tolle Arbeit! :) Hoffe sehr auf eine FS-2024-Version. Schade, dass sich noch keiner an den Airport EDCP Peenemünde gewagt hat. Diesen vermisse ich sehr. :)

    If I would be able to take proper pictures of Hangar 10, from many different angles, inside and outside, I would :) But for now it's not possible sadly.

    Oh this looks so amazing! Congrats for the great work. I've landed here in real life. I have not used the payware one that got released, but yours looks better for many reasons, but one in special. The slope of the runway. The paid scenery from the images looks completely flat, and one thing that I enjoyed when landing there in real life, was the sloped runway, as it varies quite a bit from the thresholds to the center of it. It just adds to the fun of trying a nice landing.
    Once more, congrats for such an amazing scenery, and I have a suggestion for you. There's an airfield in Poland where I've been to some times, even with different airplanes and it's quite famous, there's airshows there, Gliders, competitions, and a lot of aeroclubs and schools do training there: Leszno EPLS, and it isn't even in the default scenery, there like, just a massive grass field without eu way markings, nothing. And no one has done it yet. I might have some videos and pics of it, but if not enough I know many people who have been flying there with planes and gliders and I can ask for more, so if anytime you plan on doing it and need some pics, you can get in touch!

    Amazing to find this small airport in this quiet part of the world replicated in such detail in MSFS! It's very much appreciated.
    High quality custom building, looks better than the Payware. Will be sending a small donation. My only complaint would be that the extra detail doesn't include the missing pier in Heringsdorf. :3

    Now if only we could get the nearby EPSC done in such detail, my favourite region would be complete.
