    Description

    Welcome to Biarritz 0.1 Beta release!

    This mod is a google maps import of the city of Biarritz, France. Biarritz is a city on the Bay of Biscay, on the Atlantic coast in the French Basque Country in southwestern France. It is located 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the border with Spain. It is a luxurious seaside tourist destination known for the Hôtel du Palais, its casinos in front of the sea and its surfing culture. Fly from Biarritz Airport (LFBZ)!

    Please make sure to also download Biarritz Airport made by Alex. The Lighthouse (Phare) is NOT included, because Alex did an animated version that comes along with his Airport! Make sure to download!

    * Features

    Google Photogrammetry import of the seafront, old town and landmarks in the landing/take off path of Aéroport International de Biarritz Pays Basque LFBZ.
    Added night lights
    Did some height correction and improvements to the general topography of the area
    Color corrected for perfect blend with Microsofts generic buildings

    * Known Problems

    BETA RELEASE! Scenery is not optimized yet, frame drops can occur! I will optimize it soon!

    * How to install

    Just unzip the download and drop both folder (seafront and biarritz) into your community folder!

    Cool, one of my favourite destinations in RL. Thens some questions :)


    Have you stopped development on this? Does it work with the FlightBeam scenery? The screenshots are rather dark, so can't see if it uses real MSFS trees, or the broccoli trees direct from Google Earth import, would be nice to know.

    Yes, development for this is stopped at the moment. There is not so much room for improvement anyways. The scenery was optimized for bmw (alex) design biarritz airport, it should work with the other one as well, however, I do not own all paywares out there, so my ability for optimizing is limited in this regard as well.


    I tried to remove as many google trees as I could, but it is impossible to clean up a whole city, as you may imagine.

    Hi ! I must say, I'm becoming very critical with sceneries. It is one thing to design a superb landmark and another thing to do it working properly with MSFS. This Biarritz city is a rather large file but looks quite well optimized. It doesn't affect both FPS and loading time and it's visuel is superb. On top of that, its integration with the airport has been well managed. Excellent job !

    I really enjoyed approaching rwy 09 of LFBZ. Its a stunning view over the city center and the beaches on the left. Unfortunately the airport of Alex was not available (File unavailable), but there's an alternative freeware file.
