    Beechcraft EC-45F Expeditor 43-35764 - Image 1

    Description

This repaint, which requires the Microsoft Local Legends #5 (Beechcraft Model 18) product to be installed, depicts Beechcraft EC-45F Expeditor USAF Serial No. 43-35764 as it appeared in USAF service around the early-mid 1950s.

This aircraft was originally built as a UC-45F and delivered to the US Army Air Forces in June 1944. During World War Two it was assigned to the 2nd Electronics Squadron at Fort Dix Army Air Field in New Jersey, which today is known as Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. In 1949, due to the addition of special electronics equipment modifications, the USAF re-designated the aircraft as an EC-45F. It is documented as having been at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, in a January 1953 accident report. It served with the USAF until being struck-off charge and sold to the Nicaraguan Air Force in 1956, along with six other C-45s. The Nicaraguan Air Force appears to have only operated the C-45s for several years and 43-35764 was returned to the US sometime in the 1960s, having been acquired by Mars Air Salvage of Jupiter, Florida. The aircraft was never given a civil registration number. In 1989, the cockpit section was purchased by Donald King's Classic Warbirds of Tampa, Florida, and later sold to the QuestMasters Military Collection in 1995. Since then, the cockpit has been fully restored back to 1944 factory production configuration.

Repackaged for MSFS 2024 Compatibility (MSFS 2020 users need not re-download) When using this repaint in MSFS 2024, make sure to leave the ATC ID entry blank to prevent the dynamic registration from being added to the side of the aircraft. I have not figured out any other way around that.
