It will be during the years 26 and 25 BC that Tàrraco will acquire a greater relevance as a city, in becoming the 
capital of the mon romà. In effect, during these years, August will reside in the city and will lead the campaigns 
against Cantabrians and Artists. Thanks to the military presence, Tàrraco is going to consolidate as the capital 
of Hispania Citerior, and is going to become an urbanistic fortress, an exhibition of which is the theater and 
the monumentalization of the local forum.
