    Oceano County Airport (L52) - Image 2

    Description

Oceano airport is a cozy little airport in a perfect slice of paradise. Located right next to the Pacific Ocean in the community of Oceano, California, Oceano Airport is the perfect landing spot for your general aircraft. As all of my mod, this small scenery is made from pilot-eyes perspective. I flew there once in real and I'm an amateur scenery developer.

The airport is near the beach, bordered on the north by Pismo State Beach, and on the south by the Pismo Dunes Natural Preserve. The Pacific Ocean coastline is less than a half-mile from the main ramp area.

This mod is made with 95% of MSFS default objects library except for some specific handmade objects like taxiway signs and the blue and yellow biplane which is copyrighted by Emannuel Baranger (Helijah). But no need for extra library. All is packed in this mod.

    Features

    • All airport buildings have been replaced: airport office and its pilot lounge, main entry gate and its numerous signs, fuel island, executive hangar, airport beacon, wind cone and segmented circle... not to mention the wellknown campground.
    • Oh ! The Dr Pepper Vending machine is also there :)
    • Tanks for the Oceano Sanitation district have been updated.
    • Boeing PT17 Sterman model by Emmanuel BARANGER (Helijah).
    • Custom made airport office and Pilot Lounge.
    • A lot (I mean a lot) of object are now on the RV storage at threshold runway 29 to mask the weird satellite photo effect. This is experimental. Let me know if it's not too heavy in term of fps and general performance.
    • No extra library required.

    Dependencies for MSFS2020

    • You need to have World Update II and X (USA) installed.

Splendid work as usual. Noticed some vertical obstructions on the sector. I installed Bijan's 3.6 package recently. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2705523725

I just had a great flight from Harris Ranch here to test the just updated Just Flight Piper Archer. Not one time was my immersion broken from ramp startup to ramp shutdown. AMAZIN. This may be the first time this has happened in MSFS24, lol. In VR this is actually turning out better than I dreamed in the 80s. Thanks for your contributions.

I think I'm also having problems in MSFS 2020. Autogen buildings are being projected into the hangars there. So it's double. I remember it was better last year. Microsoft has probably changed a few things, but I loved this airfield!

Yep, I have been planning a virtual tour of the US Southwest in the Comanche, and noticed many of your sceneries are in the area. They're great stops for GA flights, and I enjoy exploring them!

Just installed this into my MSFS 2024 community folder out of curiosity and I can say that it *mostly* works. The most prevalent issue is that the autogen exclusion zones need to be re-done as there are default trees all over the place and autogen buildings overlapping with the custom placed buildings. However performance is good and the custom placed objects like the fence look good. '

I really hope you update your sceneries for 2024 because they are my favorite!

Thanks for your feedback. I don't know from what to start. Why the **** did I build all these sceneries. And now I have to remap a lot of thing to make my MSFS2024 looks something flyable. And I'm not mentionning the dev mode ;) Long path ahead!
I copy/paste your feedback test and start the todo list. On another scenery I saw the fence correctly located by with poor rendering of the object certainly had I have to find a workaround. Some elevation and mostly, as you saw, the vegetation has been upgrade with new biomes and the one that worked in MSFS2020 need to be done again.

W This is payware-worthy content. Would easily pay 45 dollars for this.

Oh, thanks for you comment ! I really don't know how you can believe I'm from a professional dev group. I'm an (passionate) amateur

Bud, I can assure you %110 if you start making big airports and selling them, with your talent you can probably make like 30-60 dollars. You are one of the most talented scenery developers that I've seen.

The ZIP now includes two folders “vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano” and “zzz-vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano”. - For MSFS2024 simmers, make sure both are active in your Community folder. Keep the name “zzz-vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano” as is. - For MSFS2020 users: You can safely ignore the “zzz-vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano” folder. - Update runway texture (MSFS2024) - Update static aircraft (remove simobject for performance) - Update holding points markings - Update windsock position (less visible in real) - Fix hangar buildings missing (MSFS2024) - Add more detail on short final 29/11 (no one complained about extra object from the previous update, let's continue) - Add some taxiway blue poles light (real update) - Add patches on taxiway (real update) - Remove hangar close to the campground (real update)
