Description
NC06 - Elk River Airport
NC06 is a private airstrip located just outside the town of Banner Elk, NC. The only runway is 30/12 (4600x75 ft or 1402/23 m) which slopes downward from 30 to 12. Approaches can be made from either end but 12 is preffered for landing while 30 is preffered for takeoff. The approach to either end of runway 30/12 is notoriously challenging due to the surrounding terrain. Even given the difficult approach and narrow runway it is not uncommon to see light jets and high performance turboprops maneuvering their way into this small field.

Have to love this challenging Airport ! :) Update for SU11+ possible ?

Great work. I particularly love the work on the terraforming having to taxi with a lot of precaution. I also appreciate the very local signs at holding point. Anything that can make as much as possible different from a generic MSFS field.

Excellent update, airport looks perfect again. Any chance for an update to 2NC0 also?

Hey since SU10 there is a massive, tall tree now dead center on the approach for runway 12 that you have to dive over. Any chance of an update to remove this tree?

Copy that, thanks for the heads up! I'll try to get that fixed when I have some time.

Awesome, I use this airport all the time and love it! The trees around 2NC0 also changed a lot since SU9. Not sure how accurate to life the default tree positioning is at both NC06 and 2NC0 anymore. Any improvements to that are greatly appreciated! All I know is the new tall tree at the end of runway 12 is a killer

A fix for that tree would be great indeed...

Hello, thank you so much for making this field (I was one of the original requesters of it and 2NC0 Mountain Air last year). I have flown into Elk River IRL but so far not Mountain Air although I hope to at some point. You did a great job and BTW, it seems to work fine in SU7. Thank you again!
