KEGE - Eagle County Regional Airport (Gypsum, Colorado) - Image 1

    Description

KEGE - Eagle County Regional Airport

KEGE is a high altitude regional airport located deep in the Rocky Mountains in the town of Gypsum. Whether departing or coming in to land, this airport offers some of the best views in the country. The airport has a single 9000x150ft / 2743x46m runway with two instrument approaches and three departures. In 2019 the main terminal underwent a $32,000,000 renovation to increase the space inside the terminal and add the airport's first 4 jetways. Additionally, the airport has recently paved out a dedicated de-ice pad on the east side of the airport while the airport's primary FBO has begun cnstructing more hangers to the west of the terminal.

    Features (1.2):

    • Fixed a large number of aprons, taxiway markings, and lights to match the updated satellite imagery
    • Removed trees that appeared after a sim update
    • Miscellaneous fixes

    Features (1.1):

    • FINALLY added LDA approach for RWY 25 (required re-terraforming the entire airport among other things)
    • Adjusted some static objects and painted lines to reflect some recent changes to the airport
    • Many other miscellaneous changes and adjustments

    Features (1.0):

    • Resurfaced all taxiways, runways, aprons, service roads, and parking lots
    • Custom 3D models for all FBO hangars, the terminal, the fire and rescue station, the Colorado National Guard HAATS facility, some private hangars, and few other miscellaneous objects
    • Added functioning jetways to the approapriate gates
    • Repainted lines for the entire airport; added custom lines and apron paint
    • Added parking lots, fences, and night lighting
    • Added the C3 ramp, de-ice pad, and several hangars which were not present when the satellite image was taken
    • Handplaced all taxiway signs
    • Removed a lot of satellite artifacts that contained construction equipment near parts of the airport that were under construction at the time of the photo
    • Removed a bunch of water masks around Gypsum and Eagle that the AI was mistakingly applying to roads and other darker areas
    • Compatible with in-game AI traffic (for the most part)

    Known Issues:

    •  Due to a sim bug the jetways may be disconnected, cannot be fixed on my end

    Extra:

Big thanks to Jukebox from the WT discord for me helping with screenshots!

Hi there, Thanks for your effort, but would it possible to add lights to the interior of terminals? The Terminals/ buildings are pitch black as if the airport is closed?

What a fantastic airport, and for free none-the-less. Should be 5.5 stars, but the rating doesn't go that high... Great work.

Just checked and it looks all good now. Shouldn't even need to update the scenery.

I just checked and they are still connected on my end. I have no clue how they could be disconnected for some people but not others. Only thing I can recommend is double check you are on version 1.1
