Description
KEGE - Eagle County Regional Airport
KEGE is a high altitude regional airport located deep in the Rocky Mountains in the town of Gypsum. Whether departing or coming in to land, this airport offers some of the best views in the country. The airport has a single 9000x150ft / 2743x46m runway with two instrument approaches and three departures. In 2019 the main terminal underwent a $32,000,000 renovation to increase the space inside the terminal and add the airport's first 4 jetways. Additionally, the airport has recently paved out a dedicated de-ice pad on the east side of the airport while the airport's primary FBO has begun cnstructing more hangers to the west of the terminal.

Hi there, Thanks for your effort, but would it possible to add lights to the interior of terminals? The Terminals/ buildings are pitch black as if the airport is closed?

What a fantastic airport, and for free none-the-less. Should be 5.5 stars, but the rating doesn't go that high... Great work.

Has SU10 fixed the broken jetways issue?

I just checked and they are still connected on my end. I have no clue how they could be disconnected for some people but not others. Only thing I can recommend is double check you are on version 1.1

fantastic scenery... Just many of the jetways are disconnected. The ILS of the airport does not match up with the runway, and the papi lights dont match up with the ILS, i dont know which one is correct. please lmk Becuase I would like this amazing scenery to be usable

The jetways are a sim thing after SU9, can't really do anything about it unfortunately. For the other part, KEGE does not have an ILS, it has an LDA which is offset from the runway centerline due to terrain. The glideslope associated with this approach is 3.80 degrees whereas the VGSI lights indicate a 3 degree glideslope per the real approach plate. If you take a look at the approach plate it also makes a note that the GS and VGSI are not coincident, meaning they will not share the same vertical path.

hmmm, that's funny how they say it has an ILS. So I am not really good with complicated things. So what slope is correct? If im doing an LDA the slope is correct but the papi lights are just set up for the vgsi, so If I fly that/visual I will approach with the correct papi lights? Sorry if that didnt make too much sense, still learning with the terms

No worries. So both are correct, it's more a matter of how you are flying. VFR or visual approaches will use the 3 degree PAPI. If you are on an instrument approach (LDA 25) you will follow the 3.80 degree glideslope for terrain clearance. Once you start the final part of the approach and transition to looking outside the plane you can break off the localizer to line up with the runway centerline and switch over to the PAPI lights so you don't have to fly that 3.8 degrees all the way into the touchdown zone. (do note I'm no CFII so this is just my understanding of it)
