Description
EDPE Eichstätt is a special airfield on a plateau two miles south of Eichstätt.
Owner of the airfield is Fliegerclub Eichstätt e.V. which was founded in 1950.
The real life airfield is open at Saturday and Sunday. This has been implemented in MSFS2020 in that way too.
The Hangars are closed during the week. They are open at Saturday/Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00 at good weather conditions*.
The gliders are placed at the airfield depending on the wind direction during the opening hours. Also some trailers are open during that time.
To play with those parameters you can use the weather menu and change the date/time and the weather to rain or snow.
Known bugs:
- *All weather conditions except Rain and Snow are good weather conditions. I've found no way to classify overcast or broken clouds to bad weather too. So don't wonder if there are gliders on the field during a upcoming thunderstorm.
- Sometimes the wind changes quickly between 19 to 21 deg or 119 to 201deg. Then the gliders will flip between the two positions on RW11/29 I've found no way to setup a delay there.
To Do:
- The winch and some special cars will be added in a later version
- also some tools (roads roller, tractor)
- Claudius's Stearman on the apron

I don't know the airfield in real life. I've never seen it by myself.
But the great atmosphere at the place could also be felt in the pictures of Claudius.

When you say you haven't been there, you must be lying, because it looks real as f*ck... Eichstätt is my Hometown, and the fact, that even the slide on the Playground has the right color, shows, how much effort you put into an airfield you seem to have no connection with... I can say only one Thing: THANKS!!! A dream has became true...
