    Description

    Obsoleted by MSFS Italy Update

    The airport has a 1300mt runway and makes for a very interesting approach as it is deeply tuck between high mountains.
    The airport is very close to many interesting spots in the Alps like Innsbruck, Zell Am See and is also a short flight from Venezia, Verona, St. Moritz, Garda and Como lake, Samolaco and Lugano-Agno.

    The scenery was rebuilt using mostly stock library objects, they all fit almost perfectly, the main terminal needs some more refinement though but it is more than passable.
    Night lighting was fully restored and many missing objects were added (solar panels, ILS antenna array, perimeter fences and vegetation).

    Great Job! I was an ATC in Bolzano (LIPB) from 2016 to 2019, really good little airport!

    A nice airport and location. However, at night there are some lights about 10 meters above the ground.

    glad you like it.
    the lights floating above the ground, a problem known as "flying orbs" is a MSFS bug and happens in many places.
    nothing I can do about it.

    departures are challenging as well...and innsbruck is quite close, makes for some very interesting flights ;)

    It's getting better and better, flying in that "Boden" area now and the famous Locher Airfield is also coming full alive.

    Bolzano is a nice start to do any area tour in district Boden. Keep up the good work !!!

    there's also Trento which is more a GA-focused airfield than Bolzano and Carzago Riviera if you dig flying grasshoppers ;)
    there are also some more interesting airfields in this area that were uploaded by other content makers (like the aforementioned Locher), be sure to check them.

    Yep, installed Trento and made a nice "Cella Ronda" tour ( have been there many times for wintersport) via Bolzano and landed on the renewed Locher field. Very nice area for VFR GA flights and hope to do it next year in real.

    Thanks for continued work and progress. I love this particular area and fly there often. Have you considered Asiago - LIDA?
    I think it's right up your alley and would serve to complete a nice
    sightseeing circuit for the area. Trento-Bolzano-Locher-Asiago.

    The one I was looking to is LILO (Sondrio-Caiolo) but, unfortunately, there's no 3D data for the area, same for Asiago.
    I need that data to observe the airport surroundings, the hangars, etc.
    gmaps can help a bit but it is not enough and the result would be too approximative.
    I'm collecting pictures I find on the net anyway.

    hey, I'd love to see Sondrio (LILO), I fly there regulary around Easter. If you need pictures I probably can provide some. If not immidiate, latest around April, if you need very detailed pics.

    Thanks for your work. U must be comming from Xplane, because they got a strong community for creating and sharing good free content.
    I got all of your Airports and even if it´s just adding light - like in Bologna - it´s realy precious. And you pick the best airports in italy. Even if i´m from northern germany i like to fly in italy and austria most. So, again, thanks for your work.

    thanks a lot for your kind words, very much appreciated. actually I never had xplane but I do come from a long history in simming, since MSFS 4.0 and always appreciated those who give to the community, time to give back a bit :)
