Venezuelan Landmarks - El Palito Refinery & Planta Centro Power Generation Complex
El Palito refinery is one of the largest oil refining complexes in Venezuela. It is located in the Puerto Cabello municipality, near the town of El Palito, on the coasts of Carabobo State, in Venezuela. It currently has a maximum processing capacity of 140,000 barrels of crude per day. This complex, controlled by the state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), supplied fuel and derivatives to the central west of the country through a system of multiple pipelines that supplied several distribution plants in central and central-west Venezuela. In 2017 their production was semi-paralyzed due to a strong fire. It has recently put back in operation with a very low processing capacity [Wikipedia].
Planta Centro is a thermoelectric generation complex with six independent power generation units that operates in north-central Venezuela. The complex consumes fuel oil from the El Palito refinery, relies on steam generation and was at one time the largest power generation complex in Venezuela. Unfortunately, it has suffered several accidents in recent years that are limiting its total power generation capacity, making the country more vulnerable and dependent on the electricity supply of the hydroelectric units of the Guri Complex, located further away in southeastern Venezuela.
To quickly get in the air and see El Palito Refinery and farther away the Planta Centro Complex, you should take-off from RWY11 of the Puerto Cabello Airport (SVPC), then turn to your left (or right, but be carefull with the mountains) to a 270 deg heading, fly low (around 1,000 ft) and slow (around 100 knots) and look for the refinery first and then Planta Centro, both located one after the other on the coast. Watch out if flying too low and slow, because of the frequent explosions and fire!.

I tried it today and its working, thank you, could you do airport for SVJC it also has a big refinery nearby and isnt that big of a Airport and also SVCR is also a small but missing airport, your work would be highly loved.

Hi. Haven't tested yet because I'm away from home and flightsiming for three weeks, but it should work.
Curiously I'm currently in Venezuela visiting some family and friends near Yaritagua in Yaracuy State and when coming in two weeks ago the refinery was in fact there, but with an old and rusted looking, but seemed to be working, jajaja. Tomorrow we're going back to Caracas and then to Miami by midweek, so I'll take a look again to my left side now (as you probably know, the highway is just to its side).
Please try it and let me know. I'm visiting Flightsim.to every other day to avoid loosing track of everything and will be happy to see it's actually working.
