    Remove Strasbourg cathedral (WU4 POI) - Image 1

    Description

    The latest World Update contained an "imporved" version of the Strasbourg cathedral. Unfortunately in my opinion they missed the mark for this POI. The colors of the cathedral are wrong and parts of the model is not accurate. It sadly makes the landmark look odd (imo).

    This mod simply removes the POI. That allows the original photogrammetry to show up again, instead of the custom model (from WU4).

    If you prefer the photogrammetric version of the Strasbourg cathedral instead of the custom POI from WU4 but you wan't to keep WU4 installed; This mod is for you !!

    Si vous préférez la version photogrametrique de la cathédrale de Strasbourg, au lieu de la version venue avec la World Update 4, tout en gardant les autres points d'intérêt installés. Cet addon est pour vous !!

    Merci, je l'utilise depuis le WU 4, et cela fonctionnait même avec FS2024 !
    Mais avec le SU4 le mod ne fonctionne plus , la fake n'est plus remplacée par l'originale

    Merci pour la remarque. Je n'ai pas encore eu l'occasion de tester SU4, je vais essayer de voir pourquoi ça ne fonctionne plus dès que je peux.

    Thank you for correction to Update IV, also the Cathedral in Antwerp-Belgium
    is totaly wrong on place and orientation. Can you adapt to the real situation please, thank you.

    Thalixte, has made a new antwerp, with the cathedral in the right place and also the church inline with RW11 EBAW.

    The guy who did that has never seen the Strasbourg cathedral, neither for real ,nor on a photography. This "update" was particularly annoying me. Thank you so much. C'est tout de même le phare de l'Alsace.

    J'ai eu la même impression. C'est surtout dommage parce-que quand on regarde de près, une partie était bien réalisée, cependant certains éléments gâchent le tout (surtout la couleur bien trop claire)...

    Will you do the same for Amsterdam? The custom railway station really sticks out and look cartoonish.

    I'm not sure if I'll have time for that atm, sorry. However you can probably easily try to make the changes yourself if you have the SDK installed. You can simply achieve that by using an exclusion rectangle as mentioned in the comment below.

    How do you achieve this? Exclusion rectangles do not work for me to remove MSFS POI.

    Hi, I actually did use an exclusion rectangles (w/ remove everything set). But the excl. rect. will only work once you've built your package and dropped it into the community folder (from my experience anyways) P.S. you also have to restart your game after adding the package to your CF obviously.

    Ah nvm, I tried again and it works this time. Maybe it was caused by the same issue that made imported mesh appear as unknown during the very next days after the released of world update 4. This issue was fixed and maybe this one as well -or I was doing a wrong manipulation).
    Similarly to you, I wanted to remove the Grand Palais POI which stands out too much compared to the rest of Paris and it works quite well now. I will share this mod for those who are interested.
