    Description

    This is a strongwind landing challenge for Rwy 13 (IGS) of Kai Tak Airport at a rainy night, it features limited visibility and a moderate gusty crosswind from south.

    There is one landing challenge each for A320 (Asobo and FBW), Boeing 747, Boeing 787

    Use ILS 111.9 for Rwy 13 IGS

    V5 fixes landing challenges, after SU5 broke them (landing detection not working)

    Known Issues for FlyByWire A320:

    LS is displayed as active, but isnt. Reengage LS switch if you are missing ILS Indicators after having entered ILS frequency on RAD/NAV page.

    Autothrottle might not be active, reengage after start.

    Last tested with FBW Develop 6bc3397 on 2022/01/15

    The existing Kai Tak landing challenge from user marrwill inspired me to add some spice to it, by adding a strong cross wind (see my other landing challenge) and a limited visibility setting at night (this one). 

    Tested using ali501's freeware Kai Tak  and Model Instruments payware Kai Tak. 

    If buildings are too tall on approach, try using also the freeware Hong Kong scenery.

    i used potoshop, and created a path with bezier lines, then added fading, its difficult to get right, and still far from the 3D line of the original

    you can replace the weather file "Weather.WPR" in folder ..\Community\kai-tak-rainstorm-night-b747\Missions\kai-tak-rainstorm-night-b747Dir (adjust folder name for other landingchallenges)

    after this, you need to drag the root folders layout.jason onto the exe MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe in the same folder, which you dl here: https://github.com/HughesMDflyer4/MSFSLayoutGenerator

    the last step is always necessary whenever you change any file of the landing challenge

    No landing detection nor the blue target box after SU5 with ali501's VHHX. I did not try on other VHHX addons yet.

    Hi there. Which version of FBW320 should I use? I currently use experimental version of FBW320 (with custom AP and FBW, almost the latest one) but the game always crashes when entering the landing challenge. Would you solve this problem? Thank you.

    Well... Perhaps I have to try to remove some of the other mods. I have tried all three versions( Stable0.6.0, Development and Experimental) and all crashed to desktop...

    Yes try with all other mods removed. I have just tested it with develop version and it works fine (see known issues above). Try the landing challenge with another aircraft, (Asobo A320), that could narrow it down for you.

    And you do have the Kaitak scenery installed? If so, which one?

    It works fine with default A320neo and Boeing 747-8( as I bought standard version, I don't have 787). I have no idea which mod cause this issue. I have installed ali501's VHHX and FreakyD's Hong Kong City.
