    Description

    This is the template I created for controling the FCU (Autopilot-Panel) of the A32NX with the Behringer X-Touch Mini via AAO.

    Two folders included, one for Stable and one for Dev Mode. Pic yours. (latest Dev-Version is tested and thus recommended for use)

    Get more control in your Sim with the use of X-Touch and Axis and Ohs.

    You can control all the red circled knobs and yellow circled buttons/switches with this template.

     

    The Scripts for AAO are included seperately, so you can just import them to create your own templates

     

    Update 1.2:

    • for the current FBW Dev-Version please use the template marked DEV_1.2
    • for the current FBW Stable-Version please use template marked 1.1

    • - 1/10 degree Bug for SPD and HDG Knob Workaround implemented (when using a Honeycomb, Thrustmaster TCA or simmilar Hardware)
    • - Acceleration for large Changes in HDG / SPD / Kohlsman implemented
    • - LEDs Encoder 6 (ALT) Feedback for Managed / Selected ALT implemented (note you have to Press the top Button under Knob 7 to switch between Managed/Selected ALT)
    - This ist not a AAO trutorial, please read the AAO manual first! - Check your settings on the X-Touch in order for this template to work! (as shown in the screenshots) Requirements (what you need):
    • - Axis and Ohs ver2.23 or newer (payware)
    • - Behringer X-Touch Mini (MIDI-Device)

    IMPORTANT: Follow the steps below!!

    Instructions on how to get the template working:

    Watch Import Process

    1. Make sure you got the X-Touch set up as shown in the screenshots with X-Touch Editor
    2. Close X-Touch Editor (this is important, because the Editor is blocking the inputs sent to AAO)
    3. Start AAO
    4. In AAO select "Hardware" and make sure you got "MIDI devices enabled" checked
    5. Start MSFS2020
    6. Start a Flight with A320
    7. In AAO select "Scripting" -> "Import Scripts" -> select the script (A32NX_Script_*ver*) -> select all Script-Folders -> Click "Import" -> if it asks for "Override" always klick yes
    8. In AAO select "Templates" -> "Import Template" -> select the template (A32NX_Template_*ver*)
    9. In AAO select "Templates" -> "Apply a template to this Aircraft" -> select template (A32NX_Template_*ver*) (you have to repeat this stepfor each livery you want to use it with!)
    10. Hit Replace and NOT merge -> If you want to use your existing setup, make sure you have saved your setup before.

    11. Restart AAO !!!

    When you update from an older version of the template apply all the steps from 3 to 9 as well and don't miss 8.

    When you update AAO from an older version, you have to re-start AAO

     

     

    If Your LED´s are not working proceed with the following:
    1. In AAO select "Hardware" -> "Show MIDI devices"
    2. If X-Touch Mini is MIDI-OUT "ID: 3" -> you are good to go
       -> If X-Touch Mini is NOT MIDI-OUT "ID: 3" -> note "YOUR MIDI-OUT ID Number"
    3. As shown in the screenshot *Number 2* in AAO select "Scripting" -> "Manage RPN scripts"
    4. Open the Scripts on the left with "LED" in the title, then double-klick EACH of the scripts listed
    5. Edit the "Red Marks" in the screenshot to "YOUR ID Number"
    6. Click "Update"
    7. Repeat Steps 12 to 14 until you have edited all scripts

    99. Congrats, you finally got it working!!

    Assignments / Functions for the Development Version:


    Layer A (with LED feedback)

    ROW 1:

    - Encoder 1 -> Adjust the Baro shown in the FCU
    - Encoder 1 Push -> switching Std-LVL and Baro-LVL (STD set in PFD/Baro Displays)
    - Encoder 1 LED -> showing if STD is set or manual Baro Control
    - Upper Button short press -> Set the Baro to current
    - Upper Button long press -> Clear ECAM Massages (LED flashing if Master Caution is active / ECAM Alert Present)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle FD 1+2 (with status LED)


    ROW 2:

    - Encoder 2 -> Switch ND Mode Pilot Knob (LS/VOR/NAV/ARC/PLAN)
    - Encoder 2 Push -> Cabin Call
    - Encoder 2 LED -> Position Feedback for ND Knob
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Brake Fan (LED flashing when Brakes hot and fan off / on when brake fan on)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle LS Info Button (with status LED)


    ROW 3:

    - Encoder 3 -> Adjust ND Range Pilot Knob
    - Encoder 3 Push -> Button ECAM TO-Config
    - Encoder 3 LED -> Position Feedback for ND Knob
    - Upper Button -> Toggle AP 1 (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle TRK/FPA (with status LED)


    ROW 4:

    - Encoder 4 -> Adjust the SPD
    - Encoder 4 Push -> Switch between managed mode and selected (with current SPD set)
    - Encoder 4 LED -> All LEDs on if Managed Speed / Top LED flashing if Selected Speed
    - Upper Button -> Toggle AP 2 (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Autothrust (with status LED)


    ROW 5:

    - Encoder 5 -> Adjust the HDG
    - Encoder 5 Push -> Switch between managed mode and selected (with current HDG set)
    - Encoder 5 LED -> All LEDs on if Managed HDG / Top LED flashing if Selected HDG / All Flashing when LOC is Captured
    - Upper Button -> Toggle LOC (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Landing Gear (LED flashing if Gear is not in/out / LED on if Gear out)


    ROW 6:

    - Encoder 6 -> Adjust the ALT
    - Encoder 6 Push -> Switch between 100 / 1000 ft adjustment
    - Encoder 6 LED -> All LEDs on if Managed Alt or in CRZ / Top LED if Selected / All Flashing when Target Alt reached, GS is captured or Aircraft is in Flare / Led next to middle left/right flashing if performing descent/climb in open or managed mode
    - Upper Button -> Push ALT Knob
    - Lower Button -> Pull ALT Knob


    ROW 7:

    - Encoder 7 -> Adjust vertical speed
    - Encoder 7 Push -> Engage V/S Mode (you need to push this AFTER adjusting V/S in order for the AP engage V/S-Mode after selecting the target-ALT)
    - Encoder 7 LED -> All LEDs ON if VS not active / All Flashing when Aircraft is in Flare / Led next to middle left/right flashing if VS is active and performing descent/climb
    - Upper Button -> Toggle APPR (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> EXPED Button (with status LED)


    ROW 8:

    - Encoder 8 -> Adjust Radio Freq
    - Encoder 8 Push (short) -> switch between lower and upper Freq knob
    - Encoder 8 Push (long) -> swap standby and active freq
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Arm Ground Spoilers (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Parking Brake (with LED flashing while active)

     

    Layer B:


    ROW 1:

    - Encoder 1 -> ADIRS 1 Knob
    - Encoder 1 Push -> FREE
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Crew Oxygen
    - Lower Button -> FREE


    ROW 2:

    - Encoder 2 -> ADIRS 3 Knob
    - Encoder 2 Push -> FREE
    - Upper Button -> FREE
    - Lower Button -> FREE


    ROW 3:

    - Encoder 3 -> ADIRS 2 Knob
    - Encoder 3 Push -> FREE
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Bat1
    - Lower Button -> Toggle All Fuelpumps


    ROW 4:

    - Encoder 4 -> Adjust Display Brightness (currently not working)
    - Encoder 4 Push -> Toggle Dome Light (currently not working)
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Bat2
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Ext Power


    ROW 5:

    - Encoder 5 -> Adjust Integ Brightness (Background) (currently not working)
    - Encoder 5 Push -> FREE
    - Upper Button -> Toggle APU Master

    ROW 6:

    - Encoder 6 -> FREE
    - Encoder 6 Push -> Toggle Anti Ice Wing
    - Upper Button -> Toggle APU Bleed

    ROW 7:

    - Encoder 7 -> Adjust TCAS Traffic Position (left TCAS Knob)
    - Encoder 7 Push -> Toggle Anti Ice Engine 1
    - Upper Button -> Clear ECAM Messages
    - Lower Button -> Toggle No Smoking Signs


    ROW 8:

    - Encoder 8 -> Adjust TCAS Mode (right TCAS Knob)
    - Encoder 8 Push -> Toggle Anti Ice Engine 2
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Pred Windshear
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Emer Exit Armed

     

    Assignments / Functions for Stable (not tested at this point):

    ROW 1:

    ROW 5:

    - Encoder 5 -> Adjust the HDG
    - Encoder 5 Push -> Switch between managed mode and selected (with current HDG set)
    - Encoder 5 LED -> All LEDs on if Managed HDG / Top LED flashing if Selected HDG
    - Upper Button -> Toggle LOC (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Landing Gear (LED flashing if Gear is not in/out / LED on if Gear out)


    ROW 6:

    - Encoder 6 -> Adjust the ALT
    - Encoder 6 Push -> Switch between 100 / 1000 ft adjustment
    - Encoder 6 LED -> All LEDs on if Managed Alt / Top LED if Selected / All LEDs flashing if GWPS Warning
    - Upper Button -> Execute flight level change (with LED flashing while active) - (you need to push this in order for the AP to make the ALT adjustment after selecting the target-ALT)
    - Lower Button: Cabin call


    ROW 7:

    - Encoder 7 -> Adjust vertical speed (adjustment is only shown in the PFD ->left Display; maybe some day in the FCU)
    - Encoder 7 Push -> Engage V/S Mode (you need to push this BEFORE adjusting V/S in order for the AP to switch to V/S-Mode after selecting the target-ALT) / sometimes V/S gets deactivated -> Bug in Game
    - Encoder 7 LED -> All LEDs off always / All LEDs flashing if GWPS Warning active
    - Upper Button -> Switch between Managed / Selected Altitude
    - Lower Button -> Toggle APPR (with status LED)


    ROW 8:

    - Encoder 8 -> Adjust ND Range CO-Pilot
    - Encoder 8 Push -> not used
    - Encoder 8 LED -> Position Feedback for ND Knob
    - Upper Button -> Toggle Arm Ground Spoilers (with status LED)
    - Lower Button -> Toggle Parking Brake (with LED flashing while active)

     

    Fader -> Control of the speedbrake (Upper Position means Speedbrake is off)

    Layer B:

    - Encoders 1-3 -> Switch ADIRS 1,2,3 Modes

     

    I share this because it took me hours to implement all of the functions from scratch so hopefully you don´t have to.

    Once I got it working the way it is now, it is way more fun to fly the A32NX FBW without the hassle of mouse-wheeling all the time while trying to stay on the knobs ingame.

    Known Bugs:

    - the template is not loaded in AAO -> you have apply the template to each airplane and livery before you can use it

    - the HDG Indicator of the FCU shows a reading with a HDG number and a dot near it instead of --- + dot or a number only -> could happen if you performed a go-around and had the AP with LOC / APPR active -> use the mouse to push/pull the knob to restore the normal behavior and get unstuck

    - Plane is going in circles with AP on: Game-Bug

    - Function not working -> try disconnecting and re-connection AAO (the green dot in AAO)

    Whats planned mid-term:

    - getting the "Cstr" Button for ND to work

    - dedicated Template for the use of two X-Touch Minis simultaniously (like a dedicated Overhead one with all the lights, crew oxygen, cabin call, APU control an so on and one for the FCU)

    Really great stuff, most of knobs and buttons are works great, excepted EFIS's ROSE and Range not works.

    Great stuff. I don't have the X Touch but I have used the template with other hardware. The only thing I can't get working is the seatbelts switch?

    If not, give it a shot. Not all Scripts available are in use, some are just old stuff witch got outdated

    Excellent addition and thank you, I am also using a streamdeck as well as the X-touch and I don't know if you are aware but Guenseli's AAO profile for streamdeck has the CSTR toggle working on the streamdeck. I'm not sure I know enough of how to transport that over to the x-touch though.

    Hi and thank you for providing this great template. It helped me very much to make the LED`s on the x-touch work. But there are a few buttons, i don`t get to work: CSTR (no LED feedback), WPT (no LED feedback), LS (no LED feedback), Master caution

    Hello and thank you for the good work. I'm using the Experimental branch, The EFIS (ND AND MOD) don't work since FBW have changed them from value 0-4, can you update it please? :)

    Correct :), The FD button light on the button is also effected, don't think there is much to do about the button, the return value is 1 no matter if the FD is turned on or off

    How do you get scripts for other planes, B777, B747, B737 etc ... do you have to use the A320 script?

    Depending on who „made“ the plane, the commands and code used ist vastly different.

    I only made the A32NX Template because that’s one I fly and thanks to the awesome FBW Team one of the most detailed ones (subsystems and so on). It is a lot of work to find out how everything works for different planes…

    So: no, this Template is not compatible with any other Plane then the A32NX

    Maybe someone shares their Template they made for other planes and you could try that.
