Loide Aereo Nacional was a brazilian airline that based all the operations around the C-46, being one of the most sucessfull operators of the time for passengers. Contrary to the standard at the time, only few DC-3 were in service with the airline, which was one of the biggest airline in latin america.

From its early years in 1947 until the selling to Vasp, the C-46 shaped the operations of the airline in short and long routes, only not used in international lines, where the DC-4 and the DC-6 (that did not entered service) were preferred.

In 1958 the flight 652 operated by the PP-LDX, here depicted, flying from Recife to Campina Grande crashed during final approach due to poor weather, out of the 18 people onboard only 5 survived, including the later famous actor Renato Aragao (aka. Didi Mocó Sonrisal Colesterol Novalgino Mufumbo.).
