Description

North Perry Airport (ICAO: KHWO) is a public airport in the City of Pembroke Pines, 5 miles (8 km) west of the central business district of Hollywood, in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is also known as Hollywood North Perry Airport, hence the HWO codes. The airport is owned by the Broward County Aviation Department. It is a general aviation airport devoted to private and business light aircraft activity to include banner towing operations, Emil Buehler Aviation Institute at Broward College, 10+ flight schools, 4+ FBOs, and Broward County Mosquito Control,.

There are four (4) runways:

1L/19R: 3,000 ft x 100 ft (lighted)
1R/19L: 3,260 ft x 100 ft
10R/28L: 3,462 ft x 100 ft (lighted)
10L/28R: 3,241 ft x 100 ft

Airport was developed and released in the following phases:

(v1.0): released April 29, 2024 - Hollywood Aviation/Atlantis Academy/Control Tower + updated taxiway names

(v1.1): released May 5, 2024 - New runways/taxiways/aprons for ATC + new taxiway signage re-size/update + runway/taxiway lighting update

(v1.2): released August 17, 2024 - North Perry Central FBO/Wayman/Pelican/plus 8 hangars in the SE corner

(v1.3): released November 20, 2024 - Bobby's Landing/ B727-100 at Broward College

The "package" does not require any dependencies. Simply download the file, unzip, and place the package into your "community" folder. If you have a prior version, please delete it prior to placing the updated package into your community folder.

Current package version: v1.3

Given the release of MSFS 2024, v1.3 is the final version of this project. Thank you for your support. We've enjoyed putting this together for a general aviation airport that isn't known by too many people. This airport has sentimental value for me since I solo'd on what was 9R many many moons ago. This was a small way for me to give back to the sim community. When I started this project, I had zero experience in blender, SDK, and scenery in general. The project is far from perfect but it is far better than the default scenery that I couldn't live with!

Mannn,, I've been waiting forever to get myself a good HWO in MSFS. This one is among the best around!! detailed custom buildings and with the rearranged 10R/1L intersection, runup area near the atc. i'm beyond happy. great job! as a Wayman HWO alumni, this airport feels like home with all its daily quirks. O yea, this addon works fine in MSFS'24. i do have an slight overlap where the default hangar will still appear a little over the wayman hangar. but not covering the whole thing. other than that, it seems fine. maybe i should lower the building density/quality. if one day decides to make the addon officially compatible in the '24. i'm sure will get it. maybe with the added west hangar too.

Excellent work mate, I'm based at Bobby's IRL and am excited to see my world in the sim. I tried making HWO look better using the SDK but its too time consuming.

If somebody has a free B727 model in blender that can be textured and published without copyright infringement, please DM. I'll need it for the 727 sitting on the tarmac in front of Broward College. Or if someone would like to texture a model (plenty of pics on Google maps of the aircraft at North Perry) and contribute, I'll add it and give you full credit in acknowledgments!!! It will be the crown jewel of the airport!

UPDATE 1.2 (late-August '24 release projection) - we have finished North Perry Central, ATA, and Wayman. We still need to complete Pelican and the 8 hangars in the SE corner (i.e. Dragon Flight, Sun City Academy, and Flight Center Int'l Academy). Once we complete Pelican and the 8 hangars, we will release package 1.2 after testing.

I started flying at HWO back in 1972. I am loving that you are doing the airport, and you are doing an excellent job! I am looking forward to the rest of the uploads for the field. I worked on both the North and South side of the field and flew from both. Thank you!
