Salisbury Plains Training Area

The British Army's Salisbury Plain Training Area covers roughly half of the plain (and makes up about 11% of Wiltshire). The army first conducted exercises on the plain in 1898. From that time, the Ministry of Defence bought up large areas of land until the Second World War. The MoD now own 150 square miles (390 km2) of land, making it the largest military training area in the United Kingdom. Much of this land is let to farmers or grazed under licence, while around 47 square miles (120 km2) (12,000 ha) are used for live firing, where public access is greatly restricted or permanently closed. The land and facilities are managed by the MoD's Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

The largest camps and barracks are at Larkhill, Bulford, Tidworth, Trenchard Lines (Upavon) and Waterloo Lines (Warminster). Copehill Down is an urban warfare training site. Several installations have been built and since removed, including a railway line and aerodrome that were constructed next to Stonehenge. A grass aerodrome at Netheravon was used by the RAF until 1963, then by the Army Air Corps until 2012, and now as a tri-service installation.

This is a simple scenery to add a runway where the RAF used to land the C-130's, i have put an A400m in the scenery but i will make a second version with C-130's too. I have included the lights so its easier to make out the strip.there is also a Heli pad next to the runway and also in the Warminster Training Area - Copehill Down located just to the north.

I will add some more Army assets in the next update. The ILS of 1155.55 is just put there for me to learn how to add and is not set right yet.

Nice Scenery Nick, though the RAF have never actually used Deptford Down for A400 operations as the ground isn't strong enough. It was used for C-130 strip landings before they were retired from service.

Thank you for pointing that out, i might make another one with C-130's so people can choose which one they install.
