    Description

    A simple paintkit for the Daher TBM 930 so people can start creating liveries for it!

     

    This paintkit currently includes:

    • Original textures for the fuselage, wings, landing gear & decal
    • UV maps for the aforementioned textures (except the landing gear & decal)
    • PDN file(s) which combine these two things into one (will need paint.net to open these, but you can overlap them manually in Photoshop as well)

     

    The included livery-tbm930-template folder can be dropped in your Community folder to install it. You can just overwrite the textures in that folder. If you are going to rename the livery and texture folder, make sure to update the entries in aircraft.cfg as well as the layout.json!

     

    If you want a sharper texture, you can just resize the textures to 4K and paint over them, this will increase the quality of your livery but also increase the file size by 4 times, so you have been warned!

    Thank you for this! I'm having fun painting my plane. 8)

    I did discover one issue: the left aileron isn't shown on the UV map. I found it (see attached, magenta area bottom left) right next to the right aileron, except that the texture cuts off before the trailing end of the aileron. (In the attached image, the grey, purple, and blue dots are on the underside, and the green and yellow dots are on top--but the texture stops halfway through the yellow dot and the top trailing edge leaving the default white. This may be an issue with the way the texture is applied to the model, or perhaps it's in a different non-adjacent part of the image, I'm not sure.)

    So I'm trying to make a livery using this in blender, but can't because the fuselage wont take the texture. The main texture "TBM_930_AIRFRAME_X6_ALBD.PNG" doesn't work with the .GLTF model found in the SimObjects folder. Where do I assign this texture in blender? There isn't a fuselage texture that matches the "TBM_930_AIRFRAME_X6_ALBD.PNG"

    Thank you for the template, really hope they did a better job on the UV, tho... all the splitting is giving me headache.

    Hello,
    I have a question about the UV maps and the template. It's seems they aren't matching. In the template the fuselage is vertical with a symetry, on the UV map, it is placed horizontaly in 2 parts.
    Do i have misunderstanded someting?

    I'm not sure what part you are talking about, the fuselsage parts are in the PLANE texture and if you overlay the UV map over the PLANE texture, it should match up where the actual fuselage would be in-game

    I'm honestly not sure, initially the texture looks like it's for the entire plane, but that clearly isn't the case (that's the PLANE texture) it might be for different LOD levels, but again; I'm not sure. You can just ignore it (leave it as it is) and just use the PLANE and DECAL textures for your livery, should be just fine.

    Level Of Detail, when you look at a plane (or any model for that matter) from further away, the model is rendered in a lower LOD level to save on performance. This saves on performance because lower LOD models often have fewer parts to render.

    That texture is for when flying with friends and they are at a specific distance or further away from you, they will see your plane as that texture, not the actual livery you made. I find it simple just to place colours and lines approximately in the correct places on that texture. The file comes into use from a distance that details are lost anyway.

    I'm not sure what you mean, I tried painting the area you posted and it seems to work fine for me, it's just on an edge between the two halves of the fuselage. If you still need help, please contact me on Discord and I'll see what I can do.

    Hello, I found few problems on you UV map; the lacet trim is missing on left of exhaust, front gear door is mapped on the left rear of the fuselage and the propeller cone is missing up to the rear of the right fuselage
