Description
The New York City Police Department Special OperationsAviation Unit (N407NY) is a Bell Helicopter 407. The NYPD Aviation Unit is headquartered at Floyd Bennett Fieldin Brooklyn, New York.
The unit's fleet consists of light duty helicopters tasked with patrol duties and mid sized utility helicopters for Search and Rescue missions and Medevac. These include 4 Bell 429 Global Rangers*, 2 Bell 412EP's and the Bell 407 (N407NY) used for training. The department has recently ordered 2 new Bell 412 EPX's to add to the fleet.
