KEDU University Airport - Davis California - Image 2

    Description

UPDATE - Just tested with MSFS 2024, works well. Some of the staic aircraft are not shown, msfs issue. However, all the airport items and models are present and lighting works as before.

THANK YOU "adavidf03" for the donation, much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Listed Under Regional Airports because... well its a local airport and definately not a bush strip. I taught mysleft about 5 different programs in 6 months to learn how to build this, labor love and frustartions. Glass refelctions, lights you name it! So.....

Here is my 0.9.1.0 upload of KEDU (the second upload), you can see the difference from the stock MSFS in the screen shots. The entire airprot hs been rebuilt from scratch with either my own models and some MSFS buildings. Of note are the unique airport office building/hanger with the writing on the roof, the Cal-Aggie Flying Farmers office, the fueling station, corner maintenace building, brickwork and shade shed for aircraft as well as some ground markings. There is also an Easter egg, just for fun. If you find it, let me know. hint... its a steel box with an inscription.

This has been troublesome as every time MSFS was updated it changed the stock ground, trees etc, and has now added roads where they dont exist. East of the runway by the perimeter fence is one.

Anyway, If you have ever flown from here it will be very familiar and is a great training tool if you train here at KEDU University Airport. Also it will be the start or end point for my next Bush Trip, coming very soon. Speaking of BT check out my California Cruising Weed to San Dego Trip.

So try it out and let me know how you like it, this is version 0.9.1.0 It may become payware at some point.

A donation ($5?) would be greatly appreciated. I had to learn three software programs travel for several reference photos and about 6 months (at least 2oo hours),of work to do it all when I started this project in August of 2020

THANK YOU "adavidf03" for the donation, much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the update that you did to the airport! Was wondering if you might be able to revise the airport and uncheck the options in SDK that deletes the approach procedures into the airport? The GPS approaches were missing.

Unfortunately you use MODELLIB.BGL which causes crash to desktop, ASOBO has specifically advised not to do this, the name was given as default for SAMPLE only :) I appreciate it was your first field however please correct it as it may frustrate even less tech savvy people should anyone nearby do the same and leave a sample name for their library. It is easily fixed in the dev mode, just change the name of the library and when you export will change the .bgl to your unique given name.

Looks great, got my PPL at KEDU. Love the Cal Aggie Flying club building. Hopefully Watts Woodland is on your list.

I just looked closely in the window of the Cal Aggie building and saw the shirt/hat rack selling cal aggie apparel. Nice touch.

I grew up in the central valley and really appreciate this labor of love to an overlooked part of the state.

I appreciate that! I learned instrument flying here at KEDU last year, tail wheel training at Auburn Muni two years ago and got my Private Pilot at Nut Tree in the 90's. So I reckon I will end up building those other two as well. Of course an update on Yolo County and perhaps Rio Vista. Now I live in San Jose and Palo Alto is my field so... I reckon that as well. I may put together a NoCal Small Airport pak and sell that for say $10
