    Description

    Why not fly southwest?

    Mosel valley awaits you! In its heart, you will find Trier-Föhren (EDRT), a regional airport amidst vineyards and numerous trails. At the airport, be sure to check out the restaurant 'Fly Inn' just across the runway. As you explore the area, leave the traffic pattern in southwestern direction to find Trier, the central city of the region, in immediate vicinity. It is considered Germany's oldest city and dates back to the Roman era. Trier-Föhren is a small regional airport mainly served by GA aircraft and small business jets. Twice a year a hot air ballooning event takes place on site.

    This small default airport got majorly revamped. Based on real-life impressions, I have corrected and adapted buildings, taxiways, aprons and added custom textures. Future versions of this airport will see more custom elements to have this airport as real as it gets!

    How to install: Drag and drop the folder from the .zip into your "Community" folder. Works out of the box!

    How to get there: Search for the ICAO code EDRT.

    EDRT is my home airport because I live nearby. It's been a regular part of my flights since FSX. Unfortunately, in MSFS 2024, I have duplicate buildings nested inside each other. I haven't found a way to change this yet, because EDRT is a standard airport in 2024 and therefore can't simply be deactivated. If anyone has a solution, that would be fantastic. I don't want to give up this beautifully implemented airport.

    Still works reasonably well in MSFS 2024. Airside is totally fine but landside suffers from doubled buildings and minor edges in the terrain mesh.

    Such a nice work!! Thanks alot!! Would it be possible to add the terrace of the "Casino-Restaurant"? That's the only thing that should be added on the scenery.

    Thank you! Although I grew up close to Trier, I have never visited this airfield in real life. But in various versions of MS Flight Simulator, it has always been one of my favourites. Your version is really great, well done :)

    Very good refinement from Trier-Föhren airfield. Thanks a lot for this. Apparently the joker dismantled the red gate in the fence near the tower. Fortunately, he left the planter behind.

    Sorry. I was wrong. There isn't a texture missing. It was me.
    I had to emptied my Community folder. Install only your scenery and then it was all right. Some addon, perhaps, it's the cause of the wrong texture. Greetings.

    Excellent work!
    But I can see a zone behind the control tower (near the car park) with no texture. In my case it is a brigh magenta zone.

    One thing I found is that the windsock points into the opposite direction (into the wind rather than with the wind).

    Hello,

    Great addon, and much appreciated as I often go to EDRT for some touch & goes (long RWY with shortish steep pattern).

    Any chance of doing EDRG Goettschied (Idar Oberstein) too?
    It is a really nice small field with a kind of air carrier feeling (on RWY 06), and a very good restaurant :-)

    Is there any chance you would be interested in doing EDKL (Leverkusen)? It's not in good shape and I am not experienced enough to make a mod.
