    Description

    This mod was created to bring together a sense of realistic lighting, but overall a CiNeMatiC feel.

    All in all, this mod is meant to give you, as the user, improved visibility at night and a cinematic, punchy kind of feel that enhances screenshots and in-sim immersion.

    *Some photos I've used for this post had a missing cockpit and/or cabin in showcase/drone mode; this has since been fixed on hvxnuvx behalf of this mod*

    INSTALLATION:

    | 2024

    - Download the file that corresponds to YOUR simulator, then follow the instructions located in the "README.txt".

     

    KNOWN ISSUES:

    - Volumetric effect is used inside this mod; as a result, it may show up sooner than usual. Meaning the threshold for fog is lower due to heavily increased light values.

    - The beacon light flashes WAY too slowly and not perfectly in sync. In that sync, im trying to find a workaround to include in the mod with the appropriate true-to-life "blinking" speed. And another issue I keep coming across is that the beacon won't shine on the specific objects I want it to. There's more than likely a fix I'll put out, but I can't guarantee anything.

    Notes:
    - This mod is meant to bring together a perfect mix of CiNeMatiC shots as well as realism while keeping your sim looking crisp. Be sure to stay alert for frequent updates, as many more will be delivered soon to bring your experience to the MAX!

    - Removed 2020 compatibility as most users have moved to MSFS2024 (if you have the old 2020 file, everything works besides the taxi light)

    In regards to the beacon especially on fast mode being too slow compared to the real life counterpart, FlightSimSG made a similar mod for the B38M which has the beacon on fast mode very accurate to how it is in real life. I'm not sure exactly what he did for it but it got updated for SP1. I love this mod too for all the lighting, just would be super nice if you can figure a way out for the beacon too! Maybe its something in the core files.

    Absolutely AMAZING mod!! I've never once seen a mod that includes custom engine shadows. Last time I saw this was with the Fenix out of the box, so to see this in a mod is just beyond awesome. Two questions: do you have any plans on making custom shadows around the gear area where the lower red beacon is? Again, similarly to Fenix, totally understandable if not because of effort it takes. Also, does this mod fully alter light rays? Every light ray works wonders in thick fog/clouds, but I can't get the strobes to emit a single light ray. Wondering if this is a mod thing or a iFly thing? Regardless, a massive upgrade!

    I see you are trying to add an increased speed to the beacon since it is too slow, I'm assuming on the fast option. I tried another mod with an increased speed on the beacon but the actual light was outside of the aircraft. Do you have any update on being able to increase the speed of it? Otherwise I'm loving this mod.

    At the moment, this is on hold until iFly updates the plane in a few weeks. I'm waiting to see if any of this has been fixed.

    wydm beacon too slowly? actually it is the opposite. The beacon has longer pauses than the strobes. Which is why the pattern changes after every flash. At some point, beacon and strobe flash simultanouesly, 10 seconds later they flash apart from each other. It is because the Beacon makes a longer "pause"

    EDIT: no actually I think you are correct, the strobes are the ones who makes a longer Pause, not the BEacon. But the result is similar, that the pattern is ever-changing

    I was talking about the beacon on the fast option. It blinks too slowly, sort of like the A350 beacon. Not the spacing between the two, but the actual length of the blink. Look at the PMDG 737 beacon vs the iFly for example.

    ah okay, got it. Normally this would be an easy edit in the .fx files, but for some reason any changes I make there shows no effect. I also tried to make the beacon and strobes have a different pause so that the pattern drifts apart, but it also won't work.
