Description
Yukon River Airports in Alaska #19
Founded in the early 1900s by members of the Stevens family, the village has long served as a seasonal fishing and hunting camp, later evolving into a permanent settlement. Today, it’s home to fewer than 100 residents, most of whom are descendants of the original founders.
The village is accessible only by boat, snowmachine, or aircraft—there are no roads connecting it to the outside world. That makes Stevens Village Airport (SVS) a vital link to Fairbanks and beyond. The gravel runway (Runway 5/23, 4,000 feet long) sits just east of the river, surrounded by boreal forest and tundra. The strip sees regular traffic from air taxis, medevac flights, and bush pilots delivering mail, groceries, and supplies.
Dimensions: 4000 x 75 feet (1219 x 25 meters)
Surface: Gravel
Runway: 05 / 23
Installation:
Copy the airport folder inside of the Zip file into your MSFS Community folder.
This airport was created using Standard Asobo/Microsoft libraries found in the sim. I also used the FREE “UK2000 Common Objects Library”, and the FREE “Emerald Objects Library” found in the sim Market Place. If you have not previously installed these libraries in your Community folder, some objects may not be visible in your sim. Remember, you only must install these one time. All Microsoft World Updates should be installed also.
There is an Easter Egg installed.

One of the most difficult issues is to get ground textures that look good in both sims. It's a tradeoff. I probably spend half my development hours tweaking textures. If an update comes along that fixes this, I will go back and revisit all my 2020/2024 airports. Until then...
Stevens Village Airport (SVS)
Stevens Village Airport (SVS) is a remote airstrip located in Alaska, serving as a crucial link for the small community of Stevens Village, which is accessible only by water, snowmachine, or aircraft. The airport features a 4,000-foot gravel runway, providing essential transportation for air taxis, medevac flights, and bush pilots delivering supplies. This add-on utilizes standard Asobo/Microsoft libraries along with additional free libraries to enhance the scenery, with a hidden Easter egg included for discovery.

Version 1.0.2 fixes a sharp 1-foot ledge on the runway that ripped the wheels off my 172. I also added a few new scenery objects as well.

Ruby - Population 187 -- Gold was discovered here in 1907, but no town was established until 1911 when additional gold deposits were discovered on Long Creek, causing a rush of prospectors to the area. Ruby was home for many of the mushers who carried mail for the Northern Commercial Company from Tanana to Ruby. The trip took four days and paid $5.00 a day. Dog team mail ended here in 1931. The checkpoint is in town, at the community hall.
