EDCJ Chemnitz Jahnsdorf
Chemnitz-Jahnsdorf airfield (EDCJ) is a commercial airfield just south of Chemnitz. The region's original airfield had been in existence since 1926, but had to make way due to construction plans. The current Chemnitz-Jahnsdorf airfield (EDCJ) was founded in 1978. Today there are two flying schools on the site and it is used for general aviation and business flights. Geographically, the airfield is located in the northern part of the Ore Mountains. The region around Chemnitz is also known as the Central Saxon Hills in the Mulde-Löss Hills natural area.
Beim Flugplatz Chemnitz-Jahnsdorf (EDCJ) handelt es sich um einen Verkehrslandeplatz etwas südlich von Chemnitz. Der ursprüngliche Flugplatz der Region existierte schon seit 1926 musste jedoch wegen Bauplänen weichen. 1978 wurde der jetzige Flugplatz Chemnitz-Jahnsdorf (EDCJ) gegründet. Heute befinden sich zwei Flugschulen auf dem Gelände und dient der allgemeinen Luftfahrt und Geschäftsflügen. Geographisch fügt der Flugplatz sich in den Nordteil des Erzgebirges. Die Region um Chemnitz wird auch als Mittelsächsisches Hügelland im Naturraum Mulde-Lösshügelland.
