GAYA ENCN Kristiansand Kjevik Payware scenery Improvements - Image 1

    Description

NOTE: YOU NEED ENCN KRISTIANSAND KJEVIK PAYWARE SCENERY FROM GAYA TO USE THIS IMPROVEMENT

NOTE: There are two separate versions of this scenery.

    • MSFS2020 v0.2.2
    •  MSFS2024 v1.0.0

Please make sure you download and install the correct one!

I love the ENCN scenery made by Gaya. It is outstanding!

However it has some minor elements that is incorrect.

This improvement has the following elements added:

    • Signs at runway hold positions are wrong. Corrected.
    • Ground markings showing Max Wingspan has been corrected. (MAX WINGSPAN 24W changed to MAX WINGSPAN 24M)
    • Runway Lights are now as per AIP. Correct
      • Runway Edge Lights has amber lights the last 600 meters.

      • Runway Centreline Lights has correct spacing and color coding.
      • Runway end and THR/WBAR lights has been corrected.
      • Runway TDZ lights has been added.
      • Blue taxilights added on the runway turnpad.
    • Added missing green taxilights on the apron.
    • Added missing wigwags at runway hold positions.
    • Removed duplicate windsocks.
    • Added powerlines before the RWY21 approach.
    • Reduced the size of trees on approach RWY21

    Installation:

Exctract the zip file to your Community folder.

Also checkout my ENRM scenery on ORBX: https://orbxdirect.com/product/togstad-enrm-msfs

    Notes:

    • If you have the scenery Powerlines and Solar Farm by Mamudesign installed, make sure it has a lower priority than this scenery improvement.
    • This is not an official patch from GAYA/ORBX and there is no support from GAYA/ORBX around issues involving this improvement!
    • No files from the original GAYA/ORBX scenery were modified.

Do you still have a copy of version 0.2.0 available? I have decided that I would prefer to keep the static aircraft rather than have three missing AI parking spots.

Hi. I do not. But it is very easy to get the static aircrafts back. If that's what users want, I'll implement them back again.

Please don't add the statics back, at least keep the no static option.

Ok. There is a 2024 version on its way shortly.

I have checked this patch in MSFS 2024, and I can see the following issues...
Two taxiway signs (see attached screenshots)
The static aircraft have been removed, but the parking spots have not been added.
It would be great to see a fix for these, as this is a nice airport, and your corrections have made it usable for me.

Hi. This fix is not really compatible with MSFS2024. There are some issues with the terrain/runway lights. For the signs I thought that were supposed to be there? According to the Avinor documentation they should be present? Now for the parking. If I were to add these missing parking spots, I need to redo all the taxipaths for the entire airport since the parkingspots needs to be connected to a taxiway. That will take a lot of time.

As, so those signs are correct? That is OK if so. I do not recall having seen taxiway signs like that anywhere else.
I understand regarding the taxipaths. I would have done this myself if I had the same access to AFD files in MSFS that I did with P3Dv4 (where I modified/built literally hundreds of AFD files).

I note that there are no static aircraft in your screenshots. Have you removed them, or is there a way to disable them? I purchased the product from ORBx Central.

Correct. I made the screensshots with an another static aircraft scenery fix installed. But now I have removed that fix and incorporated my own static aircraft remover into my scenery fix. Version 0.2.1 has now the static aircrafts removed.

    Works with 2024?
    T

No, unfortunately there were some issued with the lights. I have no further plans to fix this. (I think...) I might try to make a specific MSFS2024 version if I get the time to do it. I think the developer should actually fix the flaws, but it doesn't look like they will.

    Ok, thanks for the reply.

Any chance of a interim or permanent 2024 version (as we don't know if Gaya still will publish/update airports outside of their contract with MS)? :)

*A 2024 version could also include removal of static aircrafts.

Hm…that is actually a good idea. I will look into that. But no promises…

Would you be interested in having a look at the road-traffic close to the airport? Between the terminal and the hangar. The cars are coming extremely fast and they pop, breaking realism. Maybe it would be better to exclude MSFS car-traffic on that road, to improve realism?

Good idea! I will look into that. Thanks for the feedback.

The traffic has now been removed.

Great, starting the sim with the new fix now, looking forward to this! I've written to Gaya a couple of times with no response, but I guess they are busy with other stuff down there (as we can see in the news).

In general for this area: A last annoyance for me at least, is the huge cathedral placed behind the camping area or something (south-east of the airport) . I know this is a system-wide sloppyness for the nordic countries by MS/Asobo. But I find this cathedral particularly annoying as the silhouette of the huge complex is so visually disturbing on the hilltop, when taxiing out to rnw 03. If it's something you are also interested in, removing that church completely would probably improve the area quite a lot. I belive there is only churches of that size in Trondheim and Uranienborg in Norway :)
