Description
Aibai is located 26nm SW of Goraka. It's a non listed airstrip in msfs and thanks to Ryan of Missionary Bush Pilot, I decided to work on this lil beauty. There wasn't much here in the sim, half a runway with trees all over it, the surface was tree green. There is a lot of terrain work been done here. The Bing ortho is not the greatest here but tried my best to fix the colours and textures.
Ryan informs me that there is no actually ICAO, but 8AIBA is used IRL. I have used ABAI, as msfs doesn't seem to like larger that 4 letter designations. Remember, to head over to his channel - Missionary Bush Pilot
I hope you enjoy this one. It was more challenging to do due to the terrain. It not perfect, but from the videos, I tried to get lots of humps and bumps correct, slope, terraces and dropoffs.

Now that got a PROPER Aibai, i can finally do it better.
Btw, departing Aibai with C172 is TOUGH!!! That plane is NOT a good choice for PNG and mountainous terrain in general. It barely manages to get above stall speed and then you need to pull back to clear the foliage. And then the DON'T SINK chorus starts. Luckily you can sort-of glide down the valley, and pick up speed, but even then, flying in C172 in that area is a serious adrenaline sport.

Hi milosanx, I have been enjoying your work in AU and PNG. I have an issue with AIBA where the stip is elevated from the suroundings and a few variations compared to your screen shots. I do use Wantok’s PNG fixes, but he does not list this. Here is a link to your screenshot compared to what I’m seeing…….>

Update. Found the reason. Had meerkat's version installed as well. You call yours AIBI, he calls his AYBI and as they don't show up next to each other I didn't notice. All good

Hey there, thanks for making this, but is there any chance you can reduce the size of the parking space as supposedly that can stop AI planes being placed there which are not realistic. Cheers.

I love these airstrips, but just one observation; is it possible to mow the lawns? The length of grass on all these strips seems unrealistically high. I am not sure if this is an issue that can be overcome but wanted to hear your thoughts on this.

The last update definitely lengthened the grass. Just ask Ryan, the locals not mowing the runway is a problem for sure.

Unfortunately, after installing sim update 5, I can no longer fly to this airstrip. My sim CTDs every time I try to land here. (It's the same with YIFKI). If you are able, it would be nice if the issue could be fixed. You are doing a great job, and I really enjoy flying to all your PNG airstrips! Happy flying! :)
