AYYZ Yambaitok Airstrip PNG - Image 1

    Description

Yambaitok Aitstrips is 7.5nm NNE of Tenkis YEQ, which you can fly out of to visit AYYZ. It sits on a flat ridge next to the river.
I decided to give this one a go after Missionary Bush Pilot from Youtube asked if anyone wanted to make this one as it does not show up in MSFS.
I did the usual jazz to it - The area had no trees around it, fixed the river area, leveled stuff, added grass and bushes. You know...stuff was added. Enjoy!
This scenery uses the same libs as my other ones.

Most of the PNG airports from this site, are not loading in the new SU4.

AYYZ is not a real ICAO identifier is it?

Apprarently AYYZ is. This is what Ryan uses. there are a lot out there that have GPS coord names eg 8AIBA for Aibai and YIFKI for Yifki. Occasionally you needs to make your own up. Most of the time people just add an x in front.

Thanks for creating these beautifull airstrips in PNG.
I even saw a MAF plane in one of them. Really great you are develloping for this country.

It maybe worth changing the name of the modellib.bgl to something different, That name is the default and should really be made unique from with the SDK to reduce the chance is Scenery issues.

Hi, I have found a bit more info on Papua New Guinea airstrips used by other missionary pilots. Maybe you will have some interest in them ;)

Great!! please make more and im sure Ryan will send you info on the strips!! I agree with the others maybe losing the static 208. Im not a fan of the static people they don't really fit with it. But I love the strip!!

If I do another update, ill remove the people and 208. I don't think it needs it either. I've been emailing Ryan and he's been giving me info. It's been great.

This is fantastic! So happy to see some PNG airports. I'm only having one issue where I'm getting a lot of pop in. Seems like the ground markers and the static Cessna pop in abruptly when I'm landing or exploring the airport.

Ground markers as in cones? tbh, I could get rid of the 208 that's there. It's not likely you would see another aircraft there at the same time.

Yes I mean the cones. I just noticed as you land the cones pop in right ahead of you. And I do like seeing the 208 there! It could be an issue on the sims side as I've even noticed this on some other airports as well.

actually on further inspection its not so much pop in but the aircraft itself is sinking into the ground. When I get closer it rests on the ground normally but further away it sinks down and only the top is visible.

There will be another. I just realized the path extends out from the left side of the runway on departure.

One of the longest strips in the Idaho Backcounty. You'd be suprised what you can get in here. A fantastic location to bounce to many strips in the area. The approach from the north is a blast. There is space to land on the river beside the strip or even practice skimming.
