    Description

    Very pleased to be able to offer a remake of an original addon, one of my first for FSX in 2014. All that remains of the original airport addon is the tower, the rest has been extensively revamped to leverage all the best features of MSFS. For example, the original airport needed approaches added to complete it, MSFS automatically includes the HELENS6 approach, as well as a few alternatives. So I tried to add and improve, not just change.

    Amazon PDX9 Fulfillment Center, just the other side of NW Graham Rd, is the largest warehouse in the Portland metroplex and an obvious visual reference that was completely ignored by both default photogrammetry and Asobo, so it had to be added.Elsewhere,one of the hangars has an opening door, it is triggered by setting yoke visibility to hidden, there is a section in the preview video showing this procedure.

    To use the scenery, place the folder rk-airport-kttd in the Community folder. To start in the animated hangar, select military 1 parking. AI planes do not spawn on military parking places, unless they are also military, but in practice is is seen the AI vehicles do not hesitate to drive through the doors to park there. Without the AI vehicles, there would be no fuelers or animated pushback, both of which are available at this airport.

    ALERT: A POSSIBLE ISSUE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AT MYNN AIRPORT. IF YOU ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS:

    Navigate to C:\Packages\Community\rk-airport-kttd\scenery\kttd and delete the file "objects.bgl."

    OK, I finally found the work around to get it to not sign me out when I download, so I got the chance to check out the scenery -- well done! I flew out of TTD in the mid to late 1990s, and I've been flying out of it since 2020, and you did a good job putting it all together. It really looks like the real place! It is especially nice to have the freqs fixed over the oddity of the standard because I fly a lot of IFR. I'd only point out that the taxi lights are always on! the PLS (north) hangars are meant to be blue, and the roof texture on Gorge Winds is odd/color. But I doubt that's something you can fix.     Yes totally understand about the taxi lights. I am a little better at controlling the sim now, but I would have had to make some really custom code to control those lights better.

    I'm glad you're able to enjoy it, I wanted to make it immersive.

    The screen cap images make it look great! I fly out of TTD a few days per week, know a lot of the planes and people there, and this seems very realistic -- but I can't download it. The page makes me log in to download. So I log in, and navigate to the download, where it makes me log in, to download, to navigate to the page. to. download. to log. in. to navigate back to the pagetodownloadnavigateback........

    Yes the site has a delay to try to get people to purchase a premium subscription. I'm pretty sure it still works, I downloaded it once because I couldn't find my own assembled package.
    Thanks for checking it out, I hope you get a chance to try it. I live in the Gorge and I also have a scenery that adds the Bridge or the GOds, Crown Point, Multnomah Falls Lodge and the Hood RIver Marina. Also a Tidewater barge running between Cascade Locks and The Dalles.

    Well, regardless of the msfs yoke hangar bug...this was the first freeware airport redownloaded after a complete reinstall.

    You can add A2A Comanche to the list of aircraft where clicking on the yoke don't open the door. What a shame as the Comanche is about the only thing I fly anymore

    Yeah, it's really more a problem with MSFS virtual interaction, than it is with any given addon. I mean, the idea that we would have to conceal our yoke in order to enter a hangar, screams the message that there is no better method.

    Expect better for MSFS 2024.

    MSFS Addon LInker identifies this airport as Lynden Pinding Inl, Nassau. Maybe there is some obscure setting somewhere that the author overlooked?

    Hi, I'm having problems at MYNN. It seems to be , for a lack of a better description, dragging two pieces of shoreline out into the sea. I take your addon out and problem fixed. I see other people may be experiencing the same problem. I don't know if you intend to look into it and\or perhaps update, but, if not, no need for a reply. Thanks.

    Yes thanks for the heads up, it is not something I have done, or can control, but on the occasion of you reporting a second occurance, I'll pass this issue on up to the simulator developers.

    On the remote chance they can provide a solution, watch for the possible update.

    You can fix the problem by removing "objects.bgl" from C:\Packages\Community\rk-airport-kttd\scenery\kttd
    Alternatively I am exploring options to update the file uploaded here. Thanks again for you alert.

    I just re-downloaded it and it works fine. Thank you for the reply. I was going to do what you had suggested but turns out I didn't have to. Nice scenery!

    MYNN is a mess of an airport. It has some sort of issue that results in many conflicts with other airports. You might also see large random objects at the end of the runway at MYNN. MYNN is the problem though.
