    Description

    This is a set of Google maps (public assets) modified by Alexander Barthel (LNM Developer).

    The modified Google maps fix issues with map labels which appear in random languages when used in LNM.

    Aeronautical map themes include the Google maps above and the following:

    1) Topo (Sweden)

    2) Topo (Norway)

    3) Topo (Finland)

    The map themes are easily selectable inside LNM using the toolbar.

    Please read the included README in the package for important information.

    US VFR Sectionals are not working.

    Sorry about that. Yes, after contacting Alex (developer of LNM) when trying to troubleshoot my own maps I was informed that chartbundles no longer supports the U.S. map themes. The package is now updated to version 1.4 (removing the U.S. map themes) . Be aware the StamenTerrain map theme is also no longer supported. Alex informed me that another map theme (Stadia StamenTerrain) will be introduced in an upcoming version of LNM. You will need to obtain a free API key (reference the README in the package) to enter into LNM and use the new map theme when the new version is released.

    I am just getting my new pc up and running MSFS after a few months out of the sim, and I also have found that the VFR/IFR charts are no longer working. This was such a spectacular addon, especially for VR flying. Having a chart in the cockpit like foreflight was just excellent. I hope it gets sorted!

    The US VFR Sectionals and TACs have stopped working. This is probably because chartbundle.com (which these dgml files reference) is no longer available.
    Would be really great if there was a way to implement US sectional charts directly from the FAA (maybe have users download geo-tiff files directly from the FAA website); because there's nothing quite like LNM and the US sectional moving maps for flight simulation.

    Sorry for not having more maps, I myself have nothing to do with the creation of the maps. These maps were previously available and were packaged with permission in collaboration with the developer for this post. I believe it also depends on the availability of digital map sources from various countries. Interest in making new map themes is growing. I've noticed other maps being posted such as VFR VRP maps and WAC charts and for sure others have the talent to produce more. Keep watching for new posts.

    Hi,

    Glad you asked that, forgot to mention it in the README. Little Navmap by default comes with several map overlays but some maps provided in this package come from third parties, such as Mapbox.com, Thunderforest.com, and Maptiler.com. To use their maps you need to create an account with them and obtain an API key, sometimes referred to as a token. The key allows you to download their content for use in LNM. Typically there is no cost for a free account (used for hobbies and such) but may have limits applied to the data used (reference each site for more information). Once a key is obtained go here in LNM (Tools>Options>Map Display Keys) to enter the keys. The developer (Alex) has allocated fields for you to enter the keys for each. Afterwards, when that map theme is selected in Little Navmap the map overlay will properly display.

    Version History

    Version 1.4 - Removed the following outdated (non-working) 'chartbundle' map themes. us-helicopter us-ifr-area us-ifr-high us-ifr-low us-tac us-vfr-sectionals These are no longer supported by the original creator (chartbundle). Sorry if anyone downloaded this package prior to this new posting as I didn't find out about this until recently. Alexander Barthel has indicated a new map theme 'Stadia StamenTerrain' will be introduced in an upcoming version of LNM which will require an API key as described in note #4 of the README included in the package. This new map theme will replace the old StamenTerrian map theme which is also outdated at this time.
