O-2A - US military designation of the 337M Forward air control, observation aircraft for the US Air Force. 501 delivered to the USAF and 12 to the Imperial Iranian Air Force
In 1966, the United States Air Force (USAF) commissioned Cessna to build a military variant of the Skymaster to replace the Cessna O-1 Bird Dog.
Both the civilian and military Skymasters were low-cost twin-engine piston-powered aircraft, with one engine in the nose of the aircraft and a second in the rear of the fuselage. The push-pull configuration provided centerline thrust, allowing simpler operation than the low-wing mounting of most twin-engine light aircraft, and allowed a high wing to be used, providing clear observation below and behind the aircraft.
Modifications made for the military configuration included fore-and-aft seating for a pilot and observer, instead of the six seats of the civilian version; installation of view panels in the doors (for improved ground observation); installation of flame-retardant foam in the wing-mounted fuel tanks (slightly increasing weight, and reducing maximum fuel capacity by 3%); installation of military, rather than civilian, communication and navigation equipment and antennas; removal of propeller spinners; increased gross weight (5,400 lb vs. 4,400 lb in civilian version), with component strengthening as required to support the increase; and removal of interior upholstery.
The first O-2 flew in January 1967, and the plane went into production shortly thereafter. Performance (especially at cruising altitudes) was degraded due to the added antennas and significant weight increase, but was considered sufficient for the anticipated low-level operation.

Air Canada Express is a brand name under which Jazz Aviation operates feeder flights for Air Canada. They primarily connect smaller cities with Air Canada's domestic hub airports and focus cities, although they offer some point-to-point and international service to the United States. On April 26, 2011, it was reported that Air Canada decided to retire the Air Canada Jazz brand and created the Air Canada Express brand. Prior to establishing the Express name, the flights operated primarily under the Air Canada Jazz or Air Canada Alliance banners. As of January 2020, Air Georgian no longer provides services under the capacity purchase agreement. Those services were transferred back to Jazz Aviation. On March 1, 2021, it was also announced that Sky Regional would also no longer provide services under the capacity purchase agreement and therefore Jazz Aviation would become the sole operator of the express brand.

Ship 9880 is a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-50 built in 1975. The aircraft became part of the Delta fleet when Northwest Airlines merged with Delta on October 29, 2008, and was painted in Delta livery in Spring 2009. Northwest acquired the DC-9 on March 11, 1992, and assigned it fleet number 9880. Prior to service with Northwest, Ship 9880 flew with five airlines: Austrian Airlines in 1975, Muse Air in 1985, TranStar Airlines in 1986, Eastern Air Lines in 1987, and Continental Air Lines in 1991. Ship 9880 retired from Delta service on November 26, 2013, and joined the Delta Flight Museum on April 27, 2014. Today, Ship 9880 is part of the retired Delta fleet parked by the Museum Gate that welcomes our visitors. Delta had inaugurated the world's first DC-9 service in 1965, and flew DC-9s until 1993. After almost a 16-year absence, the DC-9 rejoined Delta's fleet during the Northwest merger in 2008, and flew until January 2014. Ship 9880 was one of 97 DC-9s that came to Delta from Northwest Airlines. Delta was the first and the last U.S. airline to fly scheduled DC-9 commercial flights.
