Beautiful paint, sir!

I was excited by this paint as the design is nice but once installed a look out of the cockpit window saw some dreadfully blocky lines for the stripes on the engine. Too ugly for me to see every time I look out the window as it's a real immersion killer, I'm afraid. Consequently, It was uninstalled immediately.
Edit: Some improvements in an update but still has some issues. Rating increased accordingly.

This is the UV wrap on the model itself. I made N140J all in 2d and it still has wavy lines especially when looking at the nacelle from the inside. I spent over 100 hours on that paint. Nothing can really be done except to hand correct every little model issue. It's painstaking and would take far too much time. You should try to paint on this aircraft to see what I mean.
You are very negative. The issue you see comes down to the mapping of the model. There is nothing the painter can do about it. All C414 paints that stripe that area have this issue.

Factual honesty and criticism is not negativity and to call it so is a misrepresentation of what I wrote. Dealing with it is part of growing up and getting better in general. It's how standards are raised. It's ugly. Fact. So ugly as to be unusable by 2022 standards. I felt the painter deserved honest feedback. I know I would want it. I'm not here to feather sensitive egos by telling people lies. That's how standards are lowered.

Again, you miss the point. Your criticism of the painter is mis-directed.

Other planes do not have the problem I am talking about. Perhaps we are not talking about the same thing.

c525b...No, you miss the point and again, misinterpret what I wrote. You seem to want to start an argument based on phantoms of your own imaginings. I have not criticised the painter AT ALL. You merely imagined it. I criticised the paint job because it isn't very good in one specific regard. Information I would wish to know If I were them. What it has to do with you I have no idea but I would prefer you to stop engaging with me because you are responding to things I have not said or intended.

Because other aircraft do NOT have the mapping issue (some do btw). It's an issue caused by very small vertices in the model.... Nothing we painters have control over. Basically when I paint a straight line on a 2d image, it will become slightly curved or jaggy depending on how the vertices are placed together. There are a few spots on this aircraft where this happens. A person would have to meticulously chase it down and that means hours and hours. Me and Nerb have a life too - we did this for free for you and the community! Anyway, hope your day get's better!

I am fully aware of the imperfect shaping on the engine nacelles. Couple things:
There is no way to fix this at the moment. The UV mesh is not ideal and creates distortions of straight lines. This is up to the developer, Flysimware, to fix.I realize you are not happy with the quality of the livery but in this case this issue is on the developer, as others are saying. The lines are not even that blocky, imo. But that is subjective and your right to critique, however the blame you place by the 2 star review is misdirected.over 3 years ago
Ryan, when I said other aircraft I meant other liveries. I'm fully aware of some of the difficulties some of these paint kits present and although there are hints of it with some of the other liveries for this plane it isn't remotely close to what I see in the same area on this livery.

The thing is Nerb, the review is for the livery and the livery is what it is and the livery is what's here. The review is relevant because it's to inform others of the problem with it as I've found it.
When I look at reviews (of anything) I take what is said onboard and then look at the issues raised myself. I expect those reviews to be honest or else they are actually about something else. I can't rate it on what it would be if someone else pulled their finger out. I can only comment on what is here. Otherwise, it's useless and dishonest.
The other thing is that other liveries with lines in this area do not show, to anywhere near such an obvious degree, what I'm seeing with this one. Now, I have uninstalled them all because they no longer work with the constant changes Flightsimware keep making and it may also be true to say that perhaps the lines were in ever so slightly a different place. It's hard to tell now and I should look at the default liveries to see if any of them have lines in the same area but the fact remains that the jaggy blocking and general distortion in this area on this livery stick out like a firework in a dark room. It really did remind me of what we had to put up with 20 years ago.
It's not a personal attack on you which I'm happy to see that you don't seem to have taken it as, unlike the "heroic" defender you had that seemed intent on putting words in my mouth. I'm very grateful for what you guys do. I gave it up many years ago, I just don't have the time nor the inclination anymore. And I'm especially grateful to you guys that do it for planes like this which do not have many liveries but I must say it as I see it, I'm afraid. It's a shame because otherwise it's a really nicely done and classy livery. Perhaps why that part sticks out so badly. Some may be able to overlook it, but I can't. Anyway, good day to you.

This is a BS review of a great paintjob. Every livery for this aircraft has the exact same issue as it's up to Flysimware to fix the UV mapping. Attacking the livery creator as if he's the problem here and refusing to acknowledge other commenters saying the same thing is really pathetic on Jazz's part. Ignore him and download, it's a great paint.

@Sporadic Sanity.....Aptly named....I didn't attack anyone. You merely imagined it and I don't care for such a disingenuous accusation. There was absolutely nothing personal about what I wrote at all. It was purely objective and factually based on what can be seen with the eyes. It doesn't matter whose fault it is. Irrelevant. It's not about attributing blame. It's a livery for a virtual plane for goodness sake. And the livery has flaws that some people may like to know about. To some, it matters. Others, it does not. It's not even a matter of opinion. The problems are there. It isn't an opinion that they are there. They ARE there. If you don't like the fact that I have mentioned them in the review (which is what a review is for) that is tough, mate. "Pathetic"? Any mirrors near you? Have a look at one.

The problem, my fellow simmer, is that you are not using the rating system in the manner in which it is intended. The content you are rating 1-star does not cause the issue you described. The add-on from which it's derived has an issue. I would ask that you do not rate the creator of the repaint poorly when it has been explained that the issue is caused by the original FSW C414 itself.

Amazing work once again! Thank you very much!
