It has a category 4 E certification, so it can operate Boeing 747, Airbus A340, Boeing 777, Airbus A350, Boeing 787 aircraft at its maximum capacity. It serves approximately 2.5 million passengers per year and is the only Central American hub for Avianca Airlines, which is a merger of almost every Central American Airlines that had existed.
